I like to think I used to be able to make money well on a falling market but I'm at a loss right now. If gox is truly gone (I still have a glimmer of hope which I will ride to the end) then its just gone right?

I suppose until they make an official statement,  or some time elapses:  it won't be clear if customers will recover any of their account value or not.

Insolvency is suspected  because  so many technical issues  just don't add up,
but is still unproven.

This may be territory for law enforcement and lawyers now, however.
