I dunno, this coin is listed as "dead/dying" but there seems to still be interest in it... Focalway is the only RUC pool I've ever seen and I dunno if they are down permanently or what...

I've been mining RUC just fine for the past couple weeks, sent a few thousand to my BTC-e wallet and set-up a sell order, Everything seems to be working just fine.

I solo mine and there's pooled mining at FocalWay

*shrugs* I haven't had any problems with it and nobody in the RUChat seems to have had any problems with it, I run MSE, Spybot S&D and Norton Security Suite regularly no signs of malicious software found in relation to it...

I'm satisfied enough that it's safe to use...

There are already buy orders at 0.1 BTC per RUC and the chain hasn't even started yet. The exchange claims to be partners with the chain. Maybe it's the same people. Would be easy to insert fake buy and sell orders to promote the chain. "Oh look, people are buying this stuff like crazy! I should start mining it or buy them with all my BTC!"

Isn't there a danger in having the exchange be somehow part of creating the coin? A little central bankish no? Not to mention the possibility of fake buy and sell orders.

That's one of my favorite things about it, it can be mined with scrypt AND sha256d plus it has two separate difficulties for scrypt miners and SHA256D miners to help keep things balanced.

That I do not know, but I'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult to modify the daemon. Have to ask the coin's creator, which I'm not sure who that is, lol...
