Is Rucoin dead?
Depends on who you ask. I still mine and support it. For the moment it is the only coin with 51% attack protection built into the client/network, has it's own in-client chat, it is the only client which is scrypt and sha256d friendly, the only client which announces your worker id to the network when you find a block (people love to have their ego stroked) and it is the only client with btc-e trade built directly into the client. There is currently nowhere to trade it but I believe there is enough interest and enough volume for it to be successful on an exchange somewhere. I was originally going to add it to an exchange I was building at http://crypto-exchange.us but have placed that project on the back-burner temporarily due to not having time to finish some cosmetic changes to the orderbook as I have been busy dev'ing other projects for other people. I will likely either sell the site or re-purpose it for something which demands less time and administration. But people are mining RuCoin, it has an active dev team and I believe it is the best client currently available. It is closed-source which the devs say they are keeping it closed source for the time being because they are not finished developing it and don't want to release the code until they are sure the client is 100% safe from security and network vulnerabilities. What I know for sure is that it has been around nearly a coupe of years without issue/incident and I have been mining it personally for 6+ months without issue/incident and the devs always do their best to help (even if it may take them a long time to respond).

I once trusted alexsmf and helped him by timetravel exploit fix and providing the first and biggest RUC mining pool. It was my biggest fault ever and blow to my reputation, it was very difficult to recover it. But I closed my pool immediately when discovered 2M of premined coins in the block #1. Don't do the same errors ever. Never trust closed-source coins. isnt that your coin? Yes, I am the NVC project maintainer.

So you claim... Have any proof...? And besides, what does that mean at this point anyway, nearly two years into a coin 20 Million is the least of your worries if "pre-mine" concerns you... I know that by the time I found bitcoin it had already been around a couple years and was mined before it was announced, doesn't seem to have hurt them any... Also, you're not one to talk having given 10 (Million was it...?) pre-mined NVC to BTC-e to have them add your unoriginal alt-coin to their exchange. I think RUC belongs in an exchange more than NVC does by a long-shot...

Are you joking? Or you think that there are only idiots?
I'm very serious. Although I was wrong about one think, it was only 110,000 pre-mined NVC. You're going to deny giving BTC-e pre-mined coins...? Allow me to refresh your memory: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=144353.0Not to mention that BTC-e admin, support and dev openly admit that they took the coins.

Unlike you, I have and publish proofs for all what I'm saying.
Also you need to know, what I am author of this message. Btc-e simply published it due to my request.
Actually all coins with diff-1 startup target are pre-mined. But you have to see the difference between public premine and private premine.

Rucoin has got a very nice client with a lot of features but it seemed that was not enough and also having a coin with a name tied to a country probably did not help either.
At the moment for me the most interesting new coin out is Mincoin.

And yet no one has... And no other coin has the built-in network security to protect it from 51% attack which I have seen in action with my own eyes. And since the coin is essentially defined by the code inside the client well, YEAH, the client pretty much dictates what the coin is in every literal sense of the word.

Rucoin may come back, its just that BTC-E took it on and then threw it away.
That will never help a coin, makes people think it is dead.

BTC-e has carried RUC twice and removed it twice. Both times due to low trade volume because no one knew what RUC was and others assumed RUC was the same as RUR. I think at this point enough people are mining RUC and I think enough people would trade in it to make it a feasible addition to an exchange.

How am I supposed to get enough RUC to make the cell? I'm so confused but it seems you can't mine unless you already have coins?
