I wonder if it is possible to apply for funding to do research on bitcoin, maybe even apply for a masters or PhD in this, Im sure there are many things to study, since digital currency is still fairly new and still a lot of misunderstanding and confusion around all of this. There is a lot of information, but we dont know if it is reliable. it will be important to study the market currency of bitcoin, for that we will need people to analyse and study and create projects.
I agree with you, the amount of knowledge needed for this project is impressive: statistics, mathematics, machine learning studies, market knowledge and not to forget programming. For the prediction algorithm I worked for 8 months, and only for that. Right now I'm making the changes after getting a lot of data in the previous months
