I was thinking the same thing... For this "green" idea to work, people actually have to HOLD their coins for the mininum stake weight period.  Witch doesn't seem to happen since people are quick to dump their stake.

so if there is no PoW mining and people are not holding long enough... we have a big problem

I wish people would hold longer... it would just make the price go higher! but then again maybe 6% yearly is not interesting enough to hold, this should be way higher, at least for the first couple of years so it catches on with the masses

pos coins don't need mining
the multipool is just an indirect investment...

there is no real difference between buying into a coin and mining into a coin
fiat/state money has a resource price tag
if you spend your national currency to buy bitcoin, you are pushing resources into the coin
if you mine, you do the same thing but indirectly

with pow coins however, the chain is secured by the mining
so if you remove the mining, the coin dies
with pos coins, you remove the mining and the value drops a bit maybe
but this is not essential to the currency

the value of a currency is not the currency itself
