Bitcoin is really cheap right now and so is litecoin. Make sure you hold Bitcoin as well as whatever else you want to own. if you can get in early on a alt coin mine it, and sell it within that first month, you can do well.
Looking as this thread makes me want to look into Darkcoin!

I will never ever understand why NXT, NEM and ETH people are bashing each other. When the Devs do it alright, but as an investor, fuck I want to have as much coins as possible of all three of them. Sit back and wait till the best will win. Maybe all three of them can become big side by side. Keep bashing senseless shitclonecoins which are just eating up money from new users and gone into the pockets of scammers and dumpers. Jesus tell all of the newbies that this 3 will be the future. Don´t waste money on a shortterm shitcoinlotterie, and don´t waste your money in expensive mining-equipment just to mine shitcoins for dumping, just to make a dime. Invest clever and smart longterm into the future. Just buy a far amount of the coming big players NXT, NEM and ETH.

nem is a big player? What's the market cap on that?
I like the idea of next's features and I like pos, but the way next was distributed stinks to high heaven and ensures that only the first few that got involved get the transaction fees.

How much BTC do you get from fees, if you hold 100 BTC? No only you get NONE, you also lose 11% with inflation!

What is FUD? And if this FUD hurt Nxt, what would stop this from happening to NEM?
FUD is an acronym which is short for fear, uncertainty, doubt. Sometimes competitors want to stop other people using some new software, so they start posts to get people worried it might damage their system if they try it. Anything new can have FUD spread about it to put people off it and keep them buying well known established stuff. Ahh things you learn every day

NEM will be the coin with the biggest reputation. So at least I would invest in NEM.

nem is certainly the coin with the biggest share of newbies pumping it. I'll give you that. nem is a big player? What's the market cap on that?

I vote for HoboNickels then. ;p I just wanted to point out, that there is no "fair" in cryptos. There is only: "Not exploitable". BTC uses proof of work (you can't "fake" work) NXT uses proof of stake (you can't "fake" stake/ownership of coins, well you could borrow them) While both favor specific range of people, they both do their job. If someone finds a way to distribute coins and fees more fairly, then go ahead and make it unexploitable, but I don't think we will see that soo

Sure there are problems with every distribution method, so we're down to subjective value judgments. 100% pre-mines with ipo style distribution is my least favorite. ymmv. It's clear however that someone late to the party wanting to create an income stream from next had better have deep pockets. The same is not true of the high yielding pow/pos coins however.

tek or phs/hbn seems to be a good idea right now, they have the highest interests rates and are actively developed
