Earthcoin is a sleeper...

Do you think there is any hope it will go up in price again. I heard it was heavily premined and that put people off buying it. There have been a few little price rises along the way but for most of the time it just seems to keep going down in price.

Bitcoin (after it finishes dropping)
NXT
NEM
Ethereum

Bitcoin came first and is the gold standard.  IPO coins aren't perfect but solve so many of the problems of bitcoin.  A year ago, there were no IPOs in the top ten market cap.  Now there are three.  In a year from now, the only non IPO, non POS, might just be Bitcoin and Litecoin.

PoW is so 2012-2013

!.  Bitcoin:  cause is still works like a charm and is the original, long confirmation time kinda sucks
2.  Dogecoin:  community, inflationary which sucks IMO, and the meme fad might wear off
3.  Digitalcoin:  very professional, capped supply, designed for the long haul and coffee buying usage
I like the idea of NXT, but the release was so fkn shady its not funny.

Why do you keep DogeCoin when you know it is deflationary ? Obviously the price will go down on the long term.

Nxt release was not shady at all, it is just that no one invested in it while the IPO lasted for 2 fucking months.

I didn't invest myself and I am not bitching about it. Don't listen to the losers.

it has less inflation than bitcoin until 2016

Yeah Digitalcoin has alot of services and development behind it at the moment including the upcoming Digitalcoin Core 2 update which includes a new custom algorithm amongst other things.

NEM has got a great community behind it and their distribution is better than next.
I am still waiting to see NEM's beta client and see how much it is different from NXT.

Worth keeping an eye on it I think.

Dont be so harsh on NXT, it is still the most advanced system around and its community is extremely dedicated and talented.
To answer what is best coin to invest in 2014, that is very simple.

NEM
