This is a coin people just have to find out about. Donate to 1Nu8gEb32hVTbgunAKynrB6XuSAhiyokUF to raise extra money for advertisements. 0.01 BTC and we're back at Altcoincalendar for a day! 0.01 BTC donated Yay for Altcoincalendar! You, Sir, are officially one of the good guys! I must be too. I donated 14,800 to a random address. Of course I did not mean too but it became a donation. PS if anyone received a random 14,800 coins I would appreciate some of them back please. Or at least donate them to market this coin.

I've added the nodes in the .conf file in the roaming area. I've solomined this coin in the beginning, but now it just won't sync. With the wallet open, more than 2 hours with the long list of nodes and nothing. Can it be due to location??? I'm in Europe, you guys also?

The dev has been quiet for a while.
I would suggest him to rename the wallet and change the (stock quark) icons of the wallet.
Otherwise this literally feels like a Quark clone.

Good suggestion. The dev is pretty active. He changed the OP a couple of days ago.

Ah, running headless so did not realise that was the case. Would help explain why the price is so low i think.

However hard I might try, I cannot get any connection to the QB network I have great faith in this coin (and quite some of it mined). Now if only I could connect. Does anyone have an idea what I can try? OS: Linux Running both headless and QT version.

As mentioned earlier, I have a working wallet. I looked into the original quark wallet and it seems people were able to fix things by adding nodes via the debug console (under the help tab). I used this to check to which nodes my wallet is succesfully connected using the command: getpeerinfo This showed I have successful connections to: 188.226.171.173:31616 205.234.139.125:31616 42.96.195.204:31616 95.182.106.43:31616 You can manually add these nodes by using this command (one at a time): addnode 188.226.171.173:31616 add
addnode 205.234.139.125:31616 add
addnode 42.96.195.204:31616 add
addnode 95.182.106.43:31616 add Like this: I'm not sure, but maybe you don't need the ":31616" part I hope this will help. Please tell us if it does.

Good news! I heard my method of manually adding nodes, worked for another coin as well, so might speed it up.

Guys, I propose the following. Something that has been bothering me for quite a while now is the dependency of people on fiat to translate their coin's value. I propose we try a little experiment with QuarkBar. Right now we have a very tiny community (just ~20MH/s on the p2pool I am active on) and absolutely no outbound interest. This is kind of lucky if we wanted to try the following:
As the value of fiat is not as stable as people imagine it to be the translation into fiat is only virtually stable (preaching to the converted here, I know). If we let go of fiat as a general translation value in the back of our heads for goods and services we end up with a coin that is decoupled from the movements of fiat completely and is not prone to any speculation. We as the small (read: tiny) community could determine exchange value. So my proposal is a small marketplace that does not have any fiat or Bitcoin affiliation whatsoever.
If I am not completely mistaken this should eventually raise QBs value on external exchanges if the marketplace is attractive enough. Or not... I for one would have a metric fuckton of hardware and finest herbs (not those, all legal) that I would love to trade for QuarkBar. I am talking about a *lot* of best products.
Does this sound like the ramblings of an economically uneducated freak? Please do tell me so, I am here to learn.

I think it will be linked to money, when you start trading it for specific goods. Maybe it would be good to have a marketplace for services (like fiverr.com), where you can only pay with Quarkbar. Services are harder to put value on. Another option would be to get Quarkbar as a supplementary coin to other coins. It could be an escrow currency that you send beforehand as a deposit for example.
