When it comes to the regurgitated pump and dump type of crap coins, people don't really look at the logo. I'd say most people skip the logo and focus on the name and the reward scheme. In fact, a lot of these stronger coins either had a strong initial "community" that help contribute to the network and a lot of the time that goes hand in hand with the "success" of the coin.

That said, sometimes a really spanking logo helps in advancing the community. One example of this is with PPC. There was a contest for a new logo and I'd personally say that it went a long way in helping the long-term value of the coin.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

the PMC logo is pretty nice, does it have a simpler version though, you couldn't read it as an icon ?

i didnt think of it much before but now whe n isaw guys from SUN doing the superb logo on relaunch of coin it got me..

why do 90% of coisn fai lwith nice logos, they have the tech but not the looks? th looks is marketing too.

check out SUN logo, if u saw other coins with good logos paste too - maybe i missed something.

you either have a geek, sucks in hairstyle,

or have a good designer, who is clueless when multipool drives the difficulty to sky high.

or have a company of both, but keep a large premine to dump all on your head after the coin hit exchange.

savvy?

Looking at coin2's logo above this forum looks pretty crap, and blackcoins logo is just as bad, they should of called it black purplish coin

In my opinion the sun coin logo in your OP is ugly (sorry to the designer!)

To teach their own though... what looks good to one person may look ugly to another. I think this is why most coin's use a simplistic design for their logo, because adding too much of this or that would be a turn off to a lot of people. This is purely a subjective topic and opinions will differ.

I am in the coin logo business and I will agree there is a lot of forgettable ones out there.

Simplicity is definitely part of my design philosophy. Good logos are simple, memorable and can communicate what the coin is about symbolically.
