One cuts of the dead wood from a plant and then it blooms in the spring. The dead wood was just cut from Bitcoin, so I voted yes.

it's not over until it's over. I'd like to see more capitulation here before starting to be overtly bullish.
But during an exponential growth you can be prudent up to a point I guess.
All in all if we establish a new bottom around $1000 in 2014 I'm happy enough. Anything more is manna from the sky.

I would say that there is no chance btc could reach over 5000 by the end of the year. ... BUT......each time I doubted bitcoin, whether it was when it broke $100, $250, or $1000, I have been wrong, so .... ya, maybe it is possible.

I think a point of view about this subject that isn't brought up much is important also, so I'll bring it up:

It's not so much that bitcoin is raising so fast in USD/BTC price, as it is that fiat is falling so fast against bitcoin.   Like, to say, most people don't  realize how fast our debt-fiat funny-money is inflated, every single year.  Even if bitcoin did not raise so much on its own, it is bound to do well just because it is not created out of thin air and most nations of Earth are facing insolvency.

(Which is also sort of funny if you think of it. All the countries of the planet, even the 'richest' ones, are looking like they will go bankrupt in the next few years. I think any sane and reasonable person would have to question our economic system at this point, but most people can't be bothered. )

There is a lot of reasoning of this type on the forum - I doubted bitcoin price could double in the past, so it means that now that I doubt it again, it would double again ...

People may not want to risk losing money with bitcoin, or may not be interested in gambling, but as more people take the time to understand what bitcoin means in terms of change to the financial system, people will be willing to risk- not risk losing their money because of the hope of making more money, but be willing to risk their money to participate in the birth of a new global financial order. Sure, people argue that power corrupts, and the new digital currency elite will be corrupted, but it is these phases of renewal that make up the ebbs and flows of nature. So to purchase bitcoin and to transact in bitcoin and to minimize transactions in fiat is not only a potential means of profit and loss, like the ownership of any commodity or currency, it is supporting a movement to give the power of the issuing of currency back to the people- just as it was when grain or metals were used as currency, and anyone could mine or grow it if they had some basic tools and know-how.
