If the SEC approves do you think it will have a global impact on other financial regulators? Will this possibly pave the way for an explosion in bitcoin value? Please share your thoughts. Thanks!

to be honest, no i still don't think they are going to approve it this time either. although there has been positive signs saying otherwise i still believe they will use lack of regulations as an excuse and reject this one soon enough.
if it is approved there may be more of them coming though, all around the world and the price will have an excited rise but we still need solid bitcoin adoption for a solid growth. ETF is not changing much about that slow process.

.Yes, I think he will definitely approve! However, this may not be in September. Probably, they can approve in 2019 first quarter. They can use this delay right

I think this year it will not happen. I think that the market is not yet ready for this. I'm not sure that there is a great need for this.

I don't think so. They will still stall any potential development for bitcoin even if it means profit in a huge scale. They have been explicitly disapproving any ETFs arising even though they seem to be positive and approving the idea at first. Stalling the decision is likely a tactic to build up anticipation only to dump on the poor hopefuls who thought that the recent increase is unstoppable due to the SEC 'reconsidering' their decision and giving the ETFs a chance. It will likely be a no again but still, let's hope that perhaps they'll have a change of heart.

IMO it is not relevant at all whether the SEC will approve an ETF. And i honestly also don't believe this will happen (yet).
I am not understanding the call for an ETF. Bitcoin was created to be a free decentralized currency. Why people want the approval for an ETF from the government is beyond my imagination. The only reason i can think of is the hope for 'new money coming in'.
The times to get rich quick with simply holding bitcoins are over. I am confident that the BTC/$ price will rise in the future. But hoping for another bull run and/or to get rich with a few bucks invested is just delusional.
However, at some point the SEC will approve an ETF. They can't ignore the calls for an ETF forever. But it might just not happen this year. IMO that's perfectly fine. I wouldn't expect a big jump in price after an approval/denial too.

For the sake of argument, let's say that SEC approved Bitcoin ETF, I think it will have a impact but I'm guessing it will have a short term effect only. We all speculate that it can bring tons of money, similar to what CBoE and CME did. Yes it did, however, the effect didn't last long, we did enjoy a good peak at $20000, but things suddenly goes on a downward spiral. So we might see the same consequences along the way if Bitcoin ETF gets approves.

Yes, I am very sure they will approve even though maybe not for now. And I believe, if the agreement has gone down, then it will greatly affect the price of bitcoin and altcoin. We should wait together, further developments regarding that

The question is, will it become a natural growth for bitcoin? Hell no. It'll be another great pump and dump for bitcoin. Which is i'm kinda sick of this rollercoaster rides. But i guess it can't be help, i'll just take the ride and close my eyes. What i wish to happen is for merchants even small, even just a merchant a day, will permanently accept bitcoin as payment. This can pave a very concrete way for bitcoin. I don't want bitcoin to go sky-high, i just wanted bitcoin to be used by everyone in their daily lives.

everyone is waiting for September! now the most important thing is that they again do not postpone the meeting for the new year! if again transferred, then bitcoin may fall to 3000 dollars! if there is approval, there will be a new wave of growth!

Sadly no, I don’t think it will be approved & when it’s at first delayed & then rejected the next time it’ll make the price dump again. I’d love to be wrong & to see approval but I don’t think so, not yet.

I'm sure there will be approval! America wants to control the entire crypto market! on this they want to be the first in everything! I read the news today that the composition of people in the commission is also changing!

I think the SEC is just playing games with Bitcoiners at the moment. Is there really enough investor demand for a Bitcoin ETF? It is not as if the SEC were totally flooded with comments with the last round of "public" comments that was requested by them. The SEC committee had a 3 to 1 vote on the Winklevoss application, so why would the outcome be any different with the CBOE application?

I don't see why this would be such a big deal? A bitcoin futures market is a dumb idea. There may be certain situations where an investor can gain some exposure to bitcoin via an ETF and use it to balance a counter-risk. But for most people you would do far better to just buy some bitcoin.

An ETF will be approved eventually, maybe not this time around due to recent instabilities in the price, but they can't ignore it indefinitely. Once it is accepted the floodgates will open and bitcoin will rise as much as gold did

with this current situation. I do not see anythinh different from the las SEC meeting. Nothing has change much. And the btc tecnology needs to be revised for the reasonable purpose. But it will be approved eventually, the reason is high demand and the BTC potential itself

SEC actually can ignore these ETFs but they won't. The people who want these ETFs to get approved aren't actual bitcoiners. And these people know the people representing the SEC,so there are possibilities where people might actually collide here, by finding a loophole and thus making the entire collusion in good/bad faith, but at the end of the day, they get what they want. Why people want the ETF to get approved is fucking simple: Most of the stock market investors are old egoistic pile of shit, they don't have enough knowledge/ are very ignorant to invest in bitcoin, but an ETF changes everything in their perspective, and whoever gets the ETF approved gets fucking rich. I think the SEC is just playing games with Bitcoiners at the moment. Is there really enough investor demand for a Bitcoin ETF?
Yep. There is demand. People in the US have gone crazy after bitcoin and most of them aren't good in using crypto. ETF is the way for them.

Short answer is No. When the declined the Winklevoss ETF last year they said that the reason was because most trades were happening on unregulated exchanges where prices were being manipulated. At the time the Chinese exchanges dominated. The Chinese exchanges have gone, but the majority of trades still happen on place like BitMex, Bitfinex and so on. The regulated exchanges like Coinbase and Gemini don't do that much business. Untill the regulated exchanges start dominating bitcoin trading, the SEC is going to keep denying permission for bitcoin ETFs.

One cannot say with surety that SEC will approve CBOE's bitcoin ETF but it is for sure that market wants this to be approved. if it gets approved then we will see a bitcoin rally which will also help other coins to rise and increase market confidence.
