Here is why the gox situation is so fucked up and it has to be fixed and not forgotten, I really don't give a shit about gox and I don't want them to come back but users should be refunded.

2009 Lost my wife, dog, business, and truck (no particular order). Yeah it's a sad country song too...
I worked my ass off and saved everything that I didn't eat, only made necessary purchases, and that was used cheap items when absolutely needed, cheap cheap cheap...
Saw bitcoins in 2010/11 followed and I didn't get in because WIRED magazine online had a bad article about it.
Then, in 2013 I put half of my money into Bitcoins, via Gox.
Mark Karpeles, you owe a LOT more than these nibbles of carrots of useless noise & remarks which you've put in front of us like a bowl of vomit for dinner.
Mark Karpeles, you are feeding us information the way the NAZIS fed the prisoners in camps. If you fed us information the way you feed yourself, perhaps we could have some kind of settled feeling of what the fuck has happened to our hard earned money.
Mark Karpeles, where is my money?
Mark Karpeles, where are my bitcoins?
Mark Karpeles, what the fuck?
Sincerely,
One of your 1 million customers.

and dont give me "you should invest only what you can afford to lose" and " he is stupid because he left money there" , if you want bitcoin to go mainstream and be a success and if you are a truly believer of Bitcoin and not only a speculator, you should never tell  that to anyone, otherwise by accepting the Mtgox closure just like that we are telling the world that Bitcoin  is a Ponzi...

I didn't lose a single satoshi there, but I cant accept the fact that many users lost life changing amount of funds, and early adopters are telling them, Ok just forget about it and move on, it is ok when you have 10K BTC  bought at less than $1, if you lose 500 it is like ok what ever, but for these people like the person above it is a life destroying event...

Thanks for the post OP.

Also lets not forget most of humanity are idiots (me being one of them) and that's the mainstream we are talking about.

I cant forget this and move on just like that.

Just wait and you will see many more of these story's come rolling in. Yep that's going to be just great for mass adoption.

How long until the first Gox related suicide hits the media ?

PS I'm not going to kill myself over this.

I have some BTC on Gox and I am absolutely sure malleability theft statement is a lie.

There is no way for a company that big to have such issues for years and do nothing to analyze or solve the problem.

I work in a small company (about 30 emp. total) and when we have a difference of 1 % between our reports and our supplier's reports,
an internal investigation starts in order to find where that 1 % comes from.

I repeat ... there is no way for such thing to happen.

The truth will set us all free...
