besides the price in my opinion the difference between BTC in 2017 and 2018 is;
1. fans, BTC experienced a decrease in fans
2. BTC experienced a decline in investors
3. The birth of a new Coin resulting in bitcoin drops.

in 2017 everyone was curious about BTC and started trying various ways to get BTC. so that in that year BTC reached the highest price. and this year 2018 everyone understands that BTC investment is very risky, then lots of drama and issues so that whales play a role to play the price.
this is just a simple analysis, and my future will not take a big risk.

For this it is difficult to antisipitate, the game of Whales, FUDs, network problems, that's what is happening to cryptocurrency.

My hope is not to be like this again because I also need all the altcoins to go up in price.

There's a lot of issue here in crypto that all of your investment will be going to be waste in the past years, but bitcoin survived the year, and im trusting this thing for a long time.

As i anaylze the media that show the bitcoin in the tv's they say at the first that btc has no future, but it still survived and proving them wrong.

if you look at the price of course there is a difference for bitcoin in 2017 and 2018. I hope that by the end of this year bitcoin will experience more increases than in 2017, hopefully everything will happen. and in my opinion not only is bitcoin experiencing differences, but cyptocurrency is very different from last year.

2017 was the golden year for bitcoin . but 2018 carry a down year for bitcoin till now. but doesnot mean bitcoin finished. this year is best for buyers. can invest in bitcoin. its price seems growing gradually . so it would be good for traders.

I saw btc last year this duration price  was arround 4000$ - 7000$. After end of year price was up to 20000$ value. So anyway  ithink in this year end also price will up to 30$K or 50$K after new cycle.

Everything is not only about the price. Bitcoin is doing very well, transaction fees are somewhere around 10 cents, although network usage is around 95%.
Last year would be fees around 50USD if the network was under such usage.
Also Lightning Network is expanding and soon there will be enough channels for everyone!

There are very much difference bitcoin 2017 and 2018.
2017 bitcoin was strong coin and still now it is more strong. Also bitcoin has more exchange crypto website. And bitcoin price was last year December high but now dump.
