My mother and I had a talk about bitcoin last December 2017 or January 2018, the time where bitcoin is on its ATH. She predicted it will not go up beyond $20,000. Do you still think it will reach again its ATH?

Personally i have doubt that bitcoin would reached it's ATH in the near future because of the resistance and whales that manipulate the price of bitcoin and also people would sell their bitcoin whenever they feel they have gain profit from it even if not so big.

Looking at how value has dropped, it looks impossible to attain 20k by end of year should there be a gradual rise in price. Unless it can just shoot abruptly, for that 20k is possible

The future is very obscured to anyone. We can only predict based on certain parameters. To me, looking at the current market trend it will be quite difficult to record that same rise this year but anything at all is possible as well

Its an unpredictable market and unpredictable means it can't be predicted. So now one knows what's going to happen after 30 days in the market. Did anyone even thought in 2013 that btc will reach upto $19000? But it did. With the more popularity now than ever, it can go well beyond 20,000$ but no one knows when. We may stay at the current price range for months or years too because like I said earlier, this market is unpredictable.

I think cryptocurrency prices are unpredictable, anything happens in encryption, and there are too many uncertainties in the market. However, I personally estimate that this year is unlikely to exceed 20k. Now the cryptocurrency price is still very low, and the market is still not optimistic.

I think nope in my observation this year isn't a year for bitcoin and the whole cryptocurrency, a lot of trials and correction facing of crypto as of now it might be maybe next year 2019 bitcoin goes bounceback again their value at the coinmarketcap, in this year i think price will uprise a litle bit no too high like last month of year 2017.

Actually , it never have reached the 20000usd mark last year but it is surely close on reaching such amount. This year, downtrend is obervable. The dominance of the market dips is wht makes this increase impossible to happen. If there'll be an increase this year, I think it won't be enough for Bitcoin to reach such huge mount. but for now focus on holding.

$20,000 USD is not a long shot. if it happened last year when Bitcoin started at $3,500 USD, why would it not reach $20,000 USD when price of Bitcoin now is at $7,000 USD. It could even pass $20,000 USD if you just try to use the same percentage of increase from last year to this year. Just HODL.

I think the total market cap is higher this year compared to the same point last year and for the Q4 2017 bull run to take BTC to 20k USD  i think a similar bull run this year will take it beyond the 20k mark and to high price. However no one can really predict how the market will behave, all we have are assumptions and theories.

In my opinion, if we talk about Bitcoin, maybe we won't find competitors in terms of volatility. Everyone in the community will at least try to possess even a small amount. And I think when a significant new community has increased, I think Bitcoin has a potential far greater than 20k.

For many reasons, Bitcoin is different from all crypto. So let's say Altcoins are created every day, and competition will be increasingly difficult in the future. While Bitcoin has its own place, and is maintained throughout the community to remain on the highest throne. So yes, I believe Bitcoin will be able to beat its highest price in the future.

It reached $20k on some exchanges. I have a screenshot from CEX.io for example.



And some people in Korea paid way more than 20k during that time.

What we are doing is similar to the time period between 2014-2017. Bitcoin is going to sleep for a while. People will slowly lose interest and hope. $20k buyers will start to dump their hodlings and whales will increase their stash, again slowly. This takes time.

When enough people do buy high, sell low; whales will wake up again and this is probably going to happen around 2021 aftee halving. Then we moon to $100k.

Agreed. But I think it will be much later. Not to the EoY. I predict it will happen not earlier end of 2019 and with strong reasons only. Today I don's see anything for such growth
