Yes Bitcoin and other crypto-currencies has made online gambling easier for gamblers than the old online gambling payment methods. people could gamble easily on crypto casinos even from countries where gambling is banned. That's literally an advantage for gamblers.

If gambling is banned in a certain country I'm sure they also banned online gambling. If that's the case, then it's not Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies that allows these people to gamble, it's VPN. AFAIK, doesn't gambling sites also ban/blacklist users from a country which gambling is illegal? I've read somewhere in the forum about this.

In India the case is different. There is no need for VPN to access online gambling sites from India. According to public gambling act it is subject to state sanction. That is why gambling is allowed in two, three states of India. In fact there is no precise legal framework to regulate online betting in India at the moment. The current gambling act is over 150 years old. So, there is no mention of online gambling.

As much as it made online gambling easier, it also made it a problem as we ended up having more addicts than normal.

Everything is anonymous in this space, and for the fact that blockchain brought that for a lot of gamblers, and those who have only been hearing gambling from afar before, getting to have a taste of it, it ended up brewing more gambling addicts into the community. That is a story for another day anyway.

I really do not see much miracle here, and for the fact that it made online gambling accessible without issues with the bank or government watching over one's shoulder, I really do not see how it has been a good advantage for gamblers. Sorry if I hit someone where it is not so good.

I was referring to gambling banned countries. In India, millions worth underground illegal gambling is already in place. So, use of cryptocurrency and blockchain opened a new door for gamblers to experience new betting methods rather than the illegal betting methods where match fixing, bullying and cheating usually occur.

I'd really like to see some data that support what you're saying. I don't know if there's actually an increase in problem gamblers due to the prevalence of crypto gambling websites.
Not saying that you are wrong, just curious about the actual numbers on that.

What I see are a lot of benefits over regular online gambling.

I think everybody agrees that it's better for the customer (player) to have instant withdraws. That's something you definitely don't see on regular casino websites.
Then there's the whole concept of provably fair gambling, also pretty much unheard of before crypto gambling.

Your point co-align with the sentiment that I have right now regarding cryptogambling and the problems that it provided since its inception. It produced a lot of gamblers with no restriction in age range, for example. I'm speaking based on my experience as I witnessed a 13-year old boy, who learned cryptocurrency (blockchain tech), gamble away his allowance and lost it in just a blink of an eye. He's not ready for this and the mixed emotions that he felt was very evident in his actions. Few months later, I learned that he became addict with it and used his mom's credit card to buy BTC and gamble it in crypto-gambling websites.

We all know that the technology that we have right now in this sphere accompanies pros and cons. The positive and negative side of it should be exposed equally to inform other people who may not know about it.

Just each day more and more companies are approaching this new way for payments, technology, innovations.
Let's see how it goes. (not just for gamblers btw)

Okay I don't agree with this thread at all. Online gambling has been a thing for a long time, long before underage kids discovered crypto dice rolling haha. It's not a miracle nor is the Second Coming for gamblers. I think its only advantage is enabling minors to gamble anonymously from home which is kinda bad and irresponsible in a way. So yeah crypto gambling is not some miraculous breakthrough this thread is making it up to be  Roll Eyes
So in a way, we probably say it is not really a miracle but a problem and in this case I am referring to gambling on the blockchain or its effect on the whole gambling activities.

There is no doubt that bitcoin and blockchain as well as internet which someone rightly said above is a miracle to the world at large in itself but for the ushering in of gambling, it has really created a lot of more irresponsible acts as we get to see minors like you said, who does not even know their left from their right, trying to get rich overnight from gambling. It is that bad!

I think bitcoin has been given the gambling industry a new era, its a good solution for the easy deposit and withdrawal, transparency of deposit and withdrawal is very important for all of us and blockchain able to provide that for us, the anonymity of the bitcoin also really help gamblers who want to hide their identity and also make them easy to access the site from all countries, so bitcoin, blockchain and gambling really a perfect combination
