Here is an EVGA for $749:
https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Gaming-Graphics-08G-P4-2182-KR/dp/B07GHVWMBS/ref=sr_1_20?ie=UTF8&qid=1534798381&sr=8-20&keywords=rtx%2B2080&th=1

Pretty arrogant for Nvidia to take pre-orders on these things without releasing any real specs.  Even the EVGA website has question marks next to the boost clock

Good thing these cards are being released in a bear market, these would be gobbled up by miners if a bull run was in full swing.
Happy to see the gamers will likely have these cards first (i'm not against mining, i have a mining rig)  a bullrun would mess up pricing and shortages galore again, causing people to overpay for gpu's

they want a lot for a 2080  $749  is not cheap

I went back and cancelled my msi for 799 and got the evga for 749  add 7% for tax and take 5% off for a cc discount and I paid $761.36

so they want the same price for a 2080  as a 1080ti  actually some 1080ti's new are only 699

I see your point but living in South Africa, those prices looks good to (some of) us if you convert directly, once it comes here, the price will have an extra $200-$300 increase, that's how we get r***ed, i get distros, suppliers, e-tailers and retailers need to make money but we're always overcharged, not to mention the import fees, customs our side suck the pricing out their thumbs and slaps it on cards, not just gpu's anything they see is popular, from the outside looking in, your prices do look good, direct import is an option but then there's no local warranty, you have to ship it off yourself, which is just as expensive our side, sending a gpu back would easily cost $150 if not more, that's why i look at your prices with envy lol.

Like you need this for gaming. Any current card works just fine. Its pure greed.

It's the price including VAT (20%) for the Founders Edition 2080Ti. You can get the base version cheaper from some low-cost AIB. Check out Inno3D's versions. They're advertised under £1000...

...but then don't even think about RMA!  Cheesy

To date, I still think nVidia binned their chips for the Founders Edition cards.
Jayztwocents benched a whole bunch of 1080's a couple of years back and he kept saying that despite having that blowing blower, his FE card achieved higher clocks than all the other AIB cards he'd tested.

On that basis I got myself a 1080 FE, removed the blowing blower, slapped an EK water block on it and put it in my Hailea chilled loop.

I still seem to hold the highest score for any chilled 1080 for 3D Mark Time Spy... IN DA WORLD! Cheesy

These cards theoretically will give +20% of profit in mining if compares the quantity of CUDA cores, but they have much bigger price than 20%.

Absolutely, and buying Pascal or even Polaris is a better deal for gaming than these Turing cards right now with the prices that last-gen cards are going for right now. I've seen lots of 1080Tis go used for under $600 and even $550 on eBay, like from this listing. 1070s can be found used for near or under $250, and the ti variants for a bit more.

Yep, there may be some merit to that.  I have an EVGA GTX 1080 Ti FE in my gaming rig and it gets the highest overclock out of the ~15 or so that I've tested since they launched (the others are all AIB models).
