Government does not like cryptos because , if ever it will be accepted as currency in a certain country , it will give the government many things to settle , for the goverent wants to regulate the activities of crypyocurrency , but it would take a hard time because cryptocurrency is decentralized kind of digital currency  and circulating in the digital world.

The government to date has not authorized Crypto for various reasons that can have a negative impact on the currency. This crypto cannot be used for payment instruments and can only be used to sell and buy coins. I think the reason why they don't like crypto because they don't trust and they're not convince enough, aside from that the're tons of new coins now a days that are not true and many people got scam from it. With this, government can't fully trust it's power.

Government can issue more number of their money.

Goverments always like something if they can control these things. They can not control decentralised currencies. They can block or they can ban etc but they cant control. Maybe they can manipulate but they can not control cryptocurrencies completely so because of these reasons they hate crypto.

The simplest answer to your query is that government cannot control cryptocurrency. The government of any country wants that all the works should be under its control  whereas cryptocurrency cannot be under the control of any person or organisation.

in my opinion the government does not approve cryptocurrency, because they want to control the economy with clear transaction data. while this cryptocurrency uses transactions anonymously, so the government cannot find out the transaction.

Current state of market underlines that cryptomarket and most of currencies are not ready to stable cooperation with governmetns. That is what I can see.
