until now no government has 100% been able to control crypto. this will be difficult, most governments only make regulations related to procurement rules for ico, or companies that implement ico. overall ownership of crypto assets has no country that prohibits its citizens.

Imagine if you were the leader of a small country and your country mainly survives in tax money, suddenly a new currency starts cropping up that would enable your people make anonymous transactions and therefore would be able to had their transactions from you and not pay tax, would you like it?

I think one of the reasons why the government does not like cryptocurrencies is that we take our money from banks and buy cryptocurrencies. And the states are not profitable.
