LOL

He's trolling your language, op. That particular line has some unfortunate connotations. Suggest you get someone to volunteer proofreading your communication material and/or messaging. Always supportive of non-profits, even if your intentions are good though, your delivery can be misleading.

For that line, suggest to change to : "Reducing homelessness is by no means an easy feat". Simpler, less room for misunderstanding.

That aside, I don't see any viable plan to achieve your objective. Strip away the name and mission, and it's just another token trying to get listed on as many exchanges and pairs as possible. Get your product working, show some real use cases, and those market things can happen on their own.

Thank you for your kind words, our token is not designed to be a get rich quick token, it is designed to help people less fortunate than myself and many others. We are currently building our Website builingblocks.store which will state our current road map, whitepaper and token allocations. At this current point in time Building Blocks has come to bitcointalk.org to 'as some people say' get the ball rolling and get people holding our coin.

We welcome anybody that would like to join in on our project, our twitter and telegram are stated above.

'Get your product working, show some real use cases, and those market things can happen on their own.' You are correct. We strive to accomplish these things.

When buying hotels and hostels with the received income, do you plan on lowering prices? Money is not really a thing homeless people have so providing housing is certainly difficult in itself. Also, your site link is not working, you might want to look in to that!

I do not want my question to detract from your mission, rather looking for an informative conversation.  Grin

Nicely done. Like I said, if your intentions are good then by all means. Hell, if they're bad, it's still a free world. I just would caution against jumping on the blockchain/token/crypto bandwagon to solve problems that obviously have deep underlying issues. And holding the coin is again for clear and present market value. Trust in the coin to get more organic value if you can actually get people to use them (as opposed to holding them). Bitcoin showed the way, and that way hasn't changed, even if it's obscured by the vulgarity of crypto speculation.

Sorry for the late reply's we have been working hard on getting our website buildingblocks.store up an running. I am hoping all information stated on our website will be clear enough to stop causing any confusion. We hope to have our website up and running by Monday (27/09/2018) We have many missions that we wish to accomplish, all achievements will be documented and shared via our twitter and main website. Our intentions are true we  come to bitcointalk.org to gain holders but it is mainly for popularity. Thank you for your time.

Very true. With that being said, most of the projects that have great mission like this (i.e. they want to save the world from poverty, etc.) are not authentic ones.
I'm not saying that this one is not. But, they need to prove something here before you can really trust a project like this.
Anyway, they are not forcing anyone to join their project. Up to the user if he will participate or not.
You can't really address this kind of problem thru crypto only. There's a lot more to consider on this kind of mission.

Sorry for such a late reply. Our website builngblocks.store is currently only in build and is due to be released on Monday 27/09/2018. This will state a lot of information about our project for example token allocation, road map (I think our road map is unique and one of a kind) and whitepaper. We hope to gain a massive following in the upcoming months and welcome you to become one of our first followers. As for your question on prices we hope to fund them via our project so prices to stay at our homes, hotels and hostels will be £0.00 as it will be already funded for, i hope that answers your question. You're welcome to ask more and thank you for your time.

Building Blocks is committed to finding the homeless a place to stay. We say homeless as a whole as there are many out there, which is too many for our liking. Building Blocks will dedicate time and help the people that need it most. All information about our homeless outreach will be documented and shared via our main website and twitter for all to see. Building blocks is committed to be 100% transparent when it comes to our following and we hope that you can join in on our journey with us. Were not completely depending on the crypto community as we will be introducing the Bulding Blocks Token to the general public in the next upcoming days when our website is fully functional. Thank you for your time.

What is homeless in this context, there is a massive shortage of apartments in some cities, normal people living in tents and going to work, cause they can't afford to rent anything.  You'd be surprised how many places there are already for a true homeless person to get help in most areas, in developed world anyways, they usually run on donations.

Not sure how a donation objective fueled by an ether contract will work,  say a coin goes up, you buy a house and make into a helping hand/recovery house, you have to sell your reserve coins to do it, it will also require some staff, counselors, etc, and constant maintenance, taxes, services.  Not only do most homeless rooming houses get constant donations from well established contacts, the original house is often donated by someone as well.  I'm not saying it can't work, and I always said if anyone can use a crypto boost, it is a donation/humanitarian category, but how will it actually work?

Have you tried running a traditional charity? You're allowed to pay yourself a salary, do what you love, help people, and make an average salary.  I'm guessing a lot of the steps will be similar, if the goal is to get homeless people of the streets.

I do like the idea though, especially building of physical homes.  Also trailers/tiny homes are relatively easy to build, and can be built well, and is basically a home, and can be moved to wherever needed.  And there are mobile home parks everywhere, and accepting tiny homes.

This is a fantastic question. We class a homeless person as a person without a home due to any reason. We will help as many people as we can that fit this category. As for staff payments, taxes and maintenance, with our token allocations we have taken into consideration all of these costs, which will be revealed on Monday via our website. If you have any other questions or feel i have left something out please let us know. Thank you for your time.

Yeah, it's pretty disheartening to see that so many projects use that type of mission but only as part of marketing, and then you see so little actual development of the usage. Actual applications. Just partnerships and more partnerships and networking. Of course, all of that are good too, especially with the competition that just gets fiercer at this stage, but teams do seem to forget to do the basics: keep in touch with the community and more importantly, keep in touch with the people they're supposed to help.

I'm always hopeful for these types of efforts though.

@OP, one last thing. You mentioned taxes and all that. Get yourself registered or recognised at least as a non-profit in your jurisdiction. That helps with taxes and gets you legitimate entry into the issue. Don't forget to work with other organisations too, there's already a lot going on in this area, and it might help to tap into existing work/expertise, rather than to work in yet another silo. I'm guessing you're in North America?

We are currently trying to get our charity number but here in the UK to do so we must register with the Charity Commission when our charity reaches £5,000 income per year. The commission will take action to secure compliance if it identifies a charity which isn’t registered but should be. With this understanding we need a public backing even before we become a charity. We will work continuously to try and get our project out to world in a different manner of ways. The Building Blocks team is working hard to get our company registered as a non-profit organisation. As soon as this happens we will no longer class Building Blocks or BH4H as a project but a non-profit organisation, i hope this clears a few things up. Thank you for your time.
