Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

"so that we wil give short chance for ASIC miners." makes sense, engaged mining against this coin, I believe it has more than a shot

what about old coins if dokdocoin is to switch to a new algo? will there be a checkpoints in dokdocoind? i don't know how do you switch to a new algo without full update of each and every client out there to a new one with special checkpointing that switches algos after block #N. that's probably too much of pain

usually wallets need to be updated, and pools of course need to switch as well, many coins have done it successfully without interruption in block chain, need to study their success and do it carefully

ASIC scrypt users can not be given too much time or they will literarily swallow large % of the coin supply and therefore its intrinsic value therefore I take it back, you want to go before they come online, also several options exists, some like ie X11 but with X11 you lock out large base of users using Nvidia cards (this is being worked on) another options is Scrypt-N this causes reduction in the hash rate per second (everyone will be affected) There is still much time, I think people that will get ASIC scrypt hardware will go after coins with old algos and fast and try to sell coins really fast in large batches on exchanges. This is NOT good for "country" coins especially.. so something to think about.

i'm concerned about scrypt asics as well, taking in account this is not yet another shitcoin, but country coin, it makes sense to take it seriously.

Additional comments of the conversion.

If you mined, bought or just got DDC before June 25, you can convert your DDC to new DOKDO from dokdocoin.org offical web site.

from May 31 to June 25, we wll handle this with automated service (can take 1 ~ 2days for whole process, but will be no lost coins even if server is down.)

after June 25, we will convert your DDC if that was generated before 189,000 blocks (that block will be generated at June 24~26) by manual checking.

so if you read this after June 25, still you can use dokdocoin.org's conversion service (not on the site yet. you can access that after May 31.)

basically there is no time limitation of conversion and if you have DDC now, that will not be lost. Thanks.

unklo // yeah its NOMP with node.js. after 140comfirmations, minded block reward will be sent to your wallet address. there is no payout statistics per users because NOMP dont collect user account information. and that's the why NOMP is faster and efficient. we are also trying to find MPOS pool for new DOKDO too.

did not quite get the current situation. so, i have like ten thousand dokdocoin, i just built the new software and it shows a blockchain of 5k blocks, not moving forward. digging the block contents i found out these are all new blocks, with new times. which seem to be totally unrelated to previous blockchain of dokdocoin. what do i do about my dokdocoins?  Huh

what i mean is how will you pop these coins out of nowhere for me, as it is against new blockchain rules? current blockchain is mined by many people, and even if those were all your blocks(imagine), total coins on the network now is long way behind the previous dokdocoin protocol blockchain value. some people had like 100000 coins there, how would you "restore" that?

nevermind that. i guess the
Code:
Dokdo getrawtransaction $(ddc getblock `ddc getblockhash 1` | grep -m 1 '        "' | cut -d '"' -f2) 1
answers that.

although not entirely clear what will happen to coins that will never be requested by previous owners.

yesjoke // pool.dokdocoin.org is woring fine. did you input your New wallet address Nxxxx~~~ ? Dxxxx~~~ is old Dokdocoin address so you must enter new wallet's address. and if you set your mining config as groestl, you should use port 3111 for groestl. offical pool port 3000 is for old scrypt miners. check it again please. thanks.
