Mark Karpeles has admitted in the recent Press Conference that he has "identified the problem" with the cold storage and they are "working on this"! AMAZING!!!! "We identified the problem, we are working on this"http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aI06KXMPwBA&t=0m42s"We are working on it"http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aI06KXMPwBA&t=0m24sNeither of these comments can be applied in any way to coins that have been stolen. The blockchain also shows that coins sent to Gox HAVE NOT BEEN STOLEN. See this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=493511.0If ALL his coins had been stolen, he would not be 'identifying' any problem and 'working on it'. He would be crying at home - he would have nothing to 'work on'. His business would be deader than a dead horse with no hope of ever recovering. THE COINS HAVE NOT BEEN STOLEN Thanks to theshazbot for finding this.

OK I was waiting for that kind of response. But can you explain this: If it is 100% true that the coins were hacked and stolen. Why wouldn't he and his lawyers just come right out and state that as fact. They haven't. Instead he says there is a problem and they are working on it. How can you explain that? Also if you read the Transcript of the conference they said: "*DJ Mt. Gox Lawyer: Missing Bitcoin May Have Been Withdrawn Through System" WHAT THEY ARE NOT SURE? So you can't explain that then. Thought so. It doesn't make any logical sense for them to NOT say outright that coins were stolen. So far no-one has actually said that. Just rumours and the 'more or less' legit document. Sorry but when a bank get's robbed, they don't say "The money may have been removed from the bank" AND "we found the problem and we are working on it" They would say clearly "we got robbed" Why WOULDN'T a company say that on TV - because it's not true and they know it.

Can anyone explain: Why would he NOT say they got stolen if they in fact did?
So far there is 1 place that says 'stolen' - that is a 'more or less legit' document.

a good reason to not say they were stolen is if he is the one that stole them. if no one finds them then he will be content to "find" them all by his self. instead of speculating, a team of blockchain investigators should scrub the blockchain and find the funds, once the funds are found Mark will say: "oh, there they are, I forgot about that" the cryptocurrency economy is saved the, and system will have protected itself. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=492776.0

Why would he ruin his career and get threatened my various mafias across the globe, so he can steal some coins, when he could just keep the exchange going and make millions per month anyway? Doesn't make sense. No. Much more likely he wrote some sloppy code to fix the malleability issue and accidentally corrupted his wallets. Now he's buying time to fix them.

Anyway.... so who wants the prize for explaining why Gox would be "working on" fixing some kind of problem after having 750,000 BTC stolen ?
What - they "identified the problem" that allowed someone to steal ALL their coins and now they are fixing it and then they will do a little merry dance and everything will be fine again?!!!
NO. Obviously the "problem" is something to do with their cold storage. What else could it be?
Come on, please tell me.

Mark Karpeles has admitted in the recent Press Conference that he has "identified the problem" with the cold storage and they are "working on this"!
During the time when MtGox was in operation but with all withdrawals suspended, did Karpeles not repeatedly state that he had identified the problem, was working on it and that withdrawals would be available again soon? "This time it will be different"

This whole situation is being manipulated is a serious 'fuck you to the public' fashion.
So I take this rickroll data as a veiled bluff at the truth. The governments hate BTC enough to wage war against it, and they think cryptocoiners are young and stupid, they are somewhat right, but here they have bitten a poison pill.
Stealing SR wallets and now Gox coins via captured pawn Mark K.? Stealing good people's money right with the bad? Is that your holy war on drugs showing?
Wow, this drug war thing is way out of hand. It's is causing far too much profits for those who run the top of the pyramid. I suspect world war is coming so whomever has BTC will surely ride it through the next war.
Corporate brand of teh Nazis, survived WW2 just fine, thrived even. Humans, not so much, but corporate brands and national flags? Shit, for them, bloody fields are like yummy soil in which to grow strong. HAIL WAR as the ultimate moneymaker!

oh i see fake
Fog of war more like. They own this forum in terms of the FUD they can run. It's totally their playbook to mock the obvious truth. Occult practice says that you have to have a willing victim, you must have the truth before their eyes and have them not see it, and this demonstrates power. That they are mocking this idea, will cause more focus. You will see eventually, that this is more than just another rickroll. Far more than that.

It is mind-blowing that the world is buying some story from a document that was NOT mad by Gox claiming that all their coins were stolen, while at the same time the CEO says that the he has 'identified the problem' and is 'working on it' Also 90,000 BTC has been traced to still be in Gox's wallets: SEE: http://letstalkbitcoin.com/the-ghost-in-the-machine-at-mtgox/#.UxO4FV65JlvWALLET 1: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=494761.0WALLET 2: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=492776.0Also I cannot believe that I am the only person who has noticed this is the dodgy document: LiabilitiesBitcoins 2,000 BTC in the Hot Wallet 624,408 BTC(Customers) +120 000 ( MtGox) - 80 208 BTC From banned or suspicious accountsTOTAL: 744,408 BTCAND "At this point 744,408 BTC are missing due to malleability-related theft which went unnoticed for several years." BREAKING NEWS!
Litecoin coming to GOX, right after Karpeles solves the mystery of the missing Bitcoins.
At a press interview on a golf course, Karpeles is seen swing a mean club, but pauses to tell a reporter that he's working diligently on solving the case of the missing coins and then states "watch how great I swing this club".
