The Einsteinium Awards celebrates innovative work across all areas of science. We aim to engage and foster a community devoted to scientific research as a long-term investment in our future and future of our planet.

The award is 100,000 EMC2 coins, which will be evenly split among our two winners. The EMC2 awards is funded directly by the EMC2 Foundation.

Dr. Thang Hoang has widely published, including six first author papers, his work as a PhD candidate in Electrical Engineering under Professor David V. Plant’s supervision in the Photonic Systems Group at McGill University. His cutting-edge work on a novel and effective self-coherent transceiver using Stokes Vector modulation may impact global information traffic and allow for faster data connections.

Michael Sayre is the CEO of Global Cell Med, a biotech company specializing in a regenerative medicine approach to treating diabetes. The company has published its therapeutic strategy and is currently conducting clinical trials on patients with chronic Type 1 Diabetes, with very promising early results.

Our first annual award attracted a global pool of applicants with equally diverse backgrounds. This included an applicant in the social sciences from Georgia State University and a stem cell biologist from the First Moscow State Medical University.

Despite the need for research and development to spur innovative solutions for a host of urgent problems. Unfortunately, in most countries, public commitments for scientific research have continued to fall. However, the Einsteinium Foundation hopes to play a part in reversing that trend. Blockchain based funding for scientific research is an innovative means to accomplish that end. We are only at the beginning to see what this new type of funding will mean for science.

Very happy to see Einsteinium finally on the track of rewarding scientists who have deserved it. And that's a real lot of money as well, if the winners will keep their EMC2 until the coin will be back at ATM. With ATH value each researcher would get the equivalent of a juicy 100,000 $ prize.
