To be honest I wasn't aware that Cobra has become a BCH supporter, or cared about it, until I read the "news" https://www.ccn.com/cobra-client-bitcoin-org-owner-has-a-plain-to-avoid-a-bch-civil-war/ but looking back at all the "drama" and "censorship" accusations I was actually waiting on some topics about the events and possible effects on bitcointalk.org. I am either wrong expecting this in Meta or no one cares or this will get killed faster than I typed it.

Will his actions cause another uprise from people calling him to hand over the ownership of the domain?  I was really looking forward to all the speculation about what will happen but it seems nothing is coming up.

The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

Would not be very coherent from his part, but if he is owning legally the domain, he could do whatever he wants despite how fucked up it is.

It has been suggested recently that Cobra hand over the ownership of the domains (at least about bitcoin.org) to the Bitcoin foundation or to someone/entity notable with records in the Bitcoin community
If I am correct the domain of the Bitcoin Foundation was given to the foundation by Cobra several years back, he should not stop in his "momentum " and continue by giving bitcoin.org

Perhaps rather than panicking and jumping to conclusions it would be good to read what Cøbra said himself regarding "BCH support".

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3284381.msg34263692#msg34263692

Quote
Someone finding Bitcoin Cash useful for a particular use case (payments) doesn't mean they're immediately some raging "Bitcoin Cash is Bitcoin" crazy person. Right now I keep most of my money in Bitcoin, and some spending money in Bitcoin Cash, but if the fees get high on Bitcoin, as they sometimes do, I can just pay for things with Bitcoin Cash since adoption is reasonably good. It's ridiculous how there's no longer any nuance left in the community. Everyone's so ready to chase anyone out of the community just because they don't hate on Bitcoin Cash with the same fierce fiery hatred.

I haven't done anything evil with my access, ever. In fact, I've been extremely aggressive in preventive efforts to harm actual evil like XT, Classic, BU, NYA, etc. It's disappointing how prominent people like Gregory Maxwell and Samson Mow have helped in spreading vicious rumors that I've been compromised or sold my account. Despite what you read on Twitter, there's no history of me doing anything malicious to harm the Bitcoin community. It's all just a smear campaign organized by people associated with Blockstream.

I can assure you all that nobody will ever see anything evil put up on bitcoin.org or bitcointalk.org. The fact that something so obvious needs to be stated is a testament to how so many in this community have become paranoid and are in a state of permanently waiting for the next "enemy of Bitcoin" to show themselves.

Will his actions cause another uprise from people calling him to hand over the ownership of the domain?
I was surprised (and worried) when I first read someone other than theymos owns the domain. But then I realized he has pointed the domain to this forum for many years, which makes him reliable in my book.
If, however, at some day the domain points to a different server, and this forum is gone, I'm pretty sure theymos can just continue the forum from a new domain name (say bitcointalk2.org). If he publishes the new link on Reddit, most users will be back soon enough.

It has been suggested recently that Cobra hand over the ownership of the domains (at least about bitcoin.org) to the Bitcoin foundation
This sounds like a good long-term solution, in case something happens to Cobra (and I hope for his sake that won't be in the next few decades).

As theymos said;

Bitcointalk.org:
 - Cobra has ultimate control over the domain name. I have access to the domain name settings.
 - I run the server. Cobra has no access to the database or server.
 - The BTC is held by myself and the treasurers. Cobra has no access.

Total server access with theymos for Bitcointalk.org

Will his actions cause another uprise from people calling him to hand over the ownership of the domain?  I was really looking forward to all the speculation about what will happen but it seems nothing is coming up.

Perhaps it will be better if domain transfer to theymos permanently. I believe there will no war with cobra and theymos. As LoyceV explained even though domain point another sever there is way to run bitcointalk with other domain.

seems like you didn't read my post correctly. I didn't "panic" nor did I post any conclusions, I am just asking. It's an interesting turn on the whole story. Cobra can support whatever coin he likes, I don't mind that and that wasn't the point.

@Coolcryptovator yeah I read that, still curious Wink

Cobra’s view seemed quite typical of those who have experience working on open source projects and the whole argument against him seems to be based on fear.  Actions taken out of fear are rarely the correct ones.

Do we not together agree that a somewhat regulation is necessary in this business?  The decentralized nature of blockchain technology and the fact that every individual who can write a cryptography program can come up with a coin is this most problem. By human nature, we need a certain amount of control because such news as war will further put fear in people's minds

If anything, Cobra brings much needed balance to the forum, more of which is needed.

In April, I speculated that Cobra is either theymos or satoshi, and theymos promptly denied being cobra but did not address him potentially being satoshi.

This implies theymos knows who satoshi is. Isn't it more likely he didn't address that statement because it's obvious he doens't know his identity?

That is one way to look at it.

Cobra is a specific person in the Bitcoin community who was around as of when satoshi left. However it is unknown who this person is, as the first time he appears is in 2014. My question is, who was this guy in 2009/10?

Given the very small number of people actively involved in the Bitcoin community at the time, I would say the chances of cobra being satoshi are at least 1%.

Cobra is not supporting BCH on top of BTC instead he is saying about co-existence.
Anyways people change their mind with time and explore more new thing.

Recently  below signature of sirius caught my attention

"I'm not a forum admin - please contact theymos instead."

Further researching on him I come to know he is the " early bitcoin developer and the original founder of the Bitcointalk.org forums " and he is now  more interested in the technology of "Stellar" instead of bitcoin.

Does it mean, he will harm bitcoin ?  No he replied that "but I still use Bitcoin to support the merchants when it's available."

I think it is more likely to be an alt of Sirius or at least someone who is known to him. Sirius is the co-founder of the the forum and used to control the domain. It is likely that he doesn't want to be hassled so transferred it to an anonymous alt or someone he trusts.

Cobra supporting BCH and developing a full node BitcoinCash does not show any conflict of interest between that and him being the domain owner of Bitcointalk and his support for BTC as well. It just shows that he just wants to help another community in preventing what they call a "civil war", which I think will help the whole cryptocurrency community overall. Plus the article is mainly focused on BitcoinCash you won't see in any part of the article that Cobra is throwing dirt on the side of BTC, let us not jump into some kind of conclusions as we really don't have something serious to start one right now.

I think it is more likely to be an alt of Sirius or at least someone who is known to him. Sirius is the co-founder of the the forum and used to control the domain. It is likely that he doesn't want to be hassled so transferred it to an anonymous alt or someone he trusts.

I also reached to the same conclusion on my earlier post.
Unfortunately, Nobody took interest/notice on it.

But there some interesting post by Theymos itself in 2014.

I received the domains from an anonymous person who claimed to have worked with Satoshi in the early days. He claimed that Satoshi split up his assets before leaving in order to prevent too much centralization: The SourceForge project to Gavin, bitcoin.org to Sirius, and the two other domains to this anonymous person.

Theymos also claimed that he do not know this anonymous person.

In this context, does "anonymous person" mean that you don't know his identity or that you know it but have reasons to not reveal it here?

I don't know his identity, and it was clear that he didn't want his identity to be known.

In short, not only the creator of Bitcoin is anonymous but now also the domain owner of this forum.

I am alive
