my holding strategy is motivated by 2 feelings, first one is greed,  now 90 percent  of alt coins  are in minus,  so i do not want sell them with  losses ( I bought them  on December 2017- January 2018). Second feelings it is optimism on better situation on the market and hope  to get more profits. Second feeling is a result of first

all of that has to be analyzed first before investing on a coin, if I choose a coin with a lot of enthusiasts with the development of a stable price because I am more happy for long-term investments, if I prefer trading coins with fast price changes but I have pay attention to changes for one week to find out the lowest and highest prices

Firstly before I'm investing my money to any project, I will saw the roadmap before it, and then I will look into background of their team too.
If all clearly and many investor interested in that project, usually we agree to hold each other until the project reach the goal

My motivation in keeping my crypto asset on hodl is I know that cryptocurrency has a potential to reach a trillion dollar industry. We all know that cryptocurrency has a solution in our society that's why I still believe in cryptocurrency although I have a hard time these few months due to massive dumping of bitcoin.

holding is a good thing IF YOU KNOW FOR SURE YOU'LL RECEIVE YOUR REWARD AFTERWARDS.

Nowadays NOONE WILL TELL YOU THAT. So you are blindly believing in a market that has gone down by 60-80% (depending on the coin you watch).

Now, you have two only options.

Sell - if you believe this is the end of crypto and want some money back.
Hold - If you don't care to lose it all.

BTC no more than 6k by end of 2019. ETH no more than 300$ by end 2019. Huge market manipulation, huge amount of scammers and hypers.

Only possible high profit makes me motivated to hold my crypto currencies, but it is very hard to do only this deal so I trade as well, which supports me with money and pleasure of risk which I like to feel in working here. But I believe that holding is the best doing.

Actually, it's not only motivation to keep holding it. But when the price is too low to sell, then I will continue to hold it until the price really looks up. Besides that, there is also my motivation to keep holding it, and the motivation is that I see the development team of coins that I hold has shown good work, so I believe the coins that I hold will have good prices.

Like when learning to drive a car, not only is the practice you have to do, before practice you have to know the basics and theories for driving a car. Likewise with crytocurrency, when you decide to invest there you already know all about the ICO, and you believe it. When you believe there you know the risk of what will happen if the ICO fails or scams. This is not about what motivates, but a matter of self-confidence in one's own decisions.

What keeps me motivated the most is if the team of a certain project is active and caring, because if they are not, then that is not a good sign. But of course, I still always research before engaging because I believe that holding would benefit me in the future in the right time and the right project.

I'm motivated by two things:
1. I do not know how to trade (but I'm going to learn it)
2. I do not want to sell at current prices and fix losses.

what motivates me to always HODL is the good fact that someday the price of the token i currently have is gonna go over x10 of it's current prices. HODL is a bad idea nor is it a negative decision, it's just the right decision and don't let current market prices entice you.

It is not easy to hold coins at a falling market. When I choose coins for long-term investment, I try to choose the most reliable coins.

various motivations of guys in the process of holding hold. myself if I currently have a token, then I will (hold) because the condition of the average token price decreases. so my motivation is to hold because of the price.

Of course, because I researched the coins I held, I believed in the team and developers as well as their products. I will be very confident if this team is very active. Because when you hold it, you think it will get rich. it just keeps motivating you.

the thing that motivates me to hold an altcoin or token that I have is because I have the belief that the altcoin or token that I have one day will increase the price many times, I think everyone thinks and hopes the same thing, that's what makes everyone able to maintain their altcoins for a long time and are ready to accept all risks.

The believe of cryptocurrency which will be the next thing in our future

The next thing here doesn't mean it will replace everything or etc, but it will increase efficiency with the help of Blockchain
In fact, its debatable if Blockchain and Cryptocurrency should be link together but IMO, Bitcoin is something way too innovative at least imo

I have a strong belief that crypto and blockchain have really bright future. Ups and downs can happen and it's quite normal in my opinion.

Hodl, sell .. all are investment decisions .. so it's really up to an investor to do his/her homework and research. My motivation to hodl will always come from the coins ability to grow and make me rich.
