I do not wish to mine, only to have a method of withdraw and deposit to and from my bank account. This is because I've been asked if I have a wallet people can donate to, and it's been asked twice so I figured it would be helpful to have.

Coinbase wants my SSN and a photo ID, and I'm not comfortable with that.

There are similar issues with CEX and Kraken, from my research.

Is there any wallet service that will let me use my debit card as a way to receive money? I want to have the wallet just so I have the option to accept Bitcoin or other coins.

Coinbase, Kraken, etc are not Wallets, they are exchanges

As you are a total newbie, I suggest that you get some mobile wallet such as Coinomi. (Download it on Google play or Apple store)
It's very intuitive, free and anonymous.

You can also try some web wallet, such as blockchain.info
I believe mobile wallet is more secure. However both are unsafe.

For security, considering buying a hardware wallet such as trezor or ledger nano.

All wallets suggested here are 100% anonymous.

But you are the one who is responsible for staying anonymous.
A good practice is to avoid using the same receiving address more than once.

This list is good for free secure wallets

https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet

Once you transfer to or from your bank account, you are no longer anonymous though...

when you want to use the banking system, you can not be anonymous. you are asking something that is completely impossible and it is not something that you should ask us on a bitcoin forum because it is off topic to bitcoin, your problem is with banks and their AML/KYC rules that is voiding your anonymity.

so either don't use banks and instead use cash and any other method that doesn't involve them or stick to your bitcoins and use them as a currency!

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

When it comes to mobile wallets, I don't think there's existing which don't have a personal information requirement (not so sure). Anyway, don't worry too much because they only need those infos of yours to verify their users. That's all. Actually, there are some which also asks where your funds came from to make sure that the money entering their wallet do not originate from Illegal stuffs such as online gambling (e.g. Coins.ph). We should understand that they do these parameters for the protection of their business and the welfare of its customers.

Only make sure that the wallet you will use is trustworthy and already got nice feedbacks from its previous/current users to become sure of its credibility.

Localbitcoins is your only option, but I'm pretty sure that most of the traders there want ID verification.
You can use purse.io and get some bitcoins, but you have to have and Amazon prime account and the fees are around 15%.This is not a recommmendation,I'm just answering your question. With purse.io you just buy stuff from Amazon for other people and Amazon ships the items to their address. When they receive the items, they pay you with bitcoins. This is kinda anonymous, there's no ID verification.

If you are going to use a credit card to get bitcoin you are surrendering
your anonymity. The only other option is to use cash and deal person
to person and this comes with its own risks.

I assume you simply want to receive fiat via bitcoin but to do it anonymously. I would recommend downloading electrum as a bitcoin wallet to receive and then cashing out using a two way atm machine. Fees will be higher but that is the price of anonymity

Okay, so let's clarify:

You don't need to buy Bitcoin, you just need a wallet that can receive donations?

If so, Electrum is your best bet. You can create as many wallets and addresses you want without any verification and anyone can send Bitcoins to it. You may need a similar wallet for other coins though, as it's specifically for Bitcoin only.

What do you mean when you say you want to receive the money into your debit card? You basically want to convert the coins in your wallet to money in your account? There's really no way of doing that without signing up for an exchange with fiat pairs, selling your coins, and cashing out to your bank account. There's also peer-to-peer trading but that may be a bit daunting for a complete beginner.

If you wanted to use your debit cards then you will surely need to supply your identity to them. I would suggest, well since you are here, to use crypto. There are stores that accept crypto payments online. You can trade that item bought in exchange for real cash, try it with a friend.

You could use Electrum wallet as you could open plenty of new wallets within itself with separate passwords.

And when you want to convert those bitcoins in your wallet to fiat money and get it transferred anonymously to your debit card,i mean probably your bank account then you could use local bitcoins.com as there are still many traders there who don't want your id to be verified.

There are two concepts here that you need to understand :

1. If you simply want to receive Bitcoin donations, then any of the online wallet providers will suffice. www.Blockchain.info

2. Any time conversion from Bitcoin to fiat currencies needs to happen through regulated exchanges, KYC/AML regulations

are required to ID you.

You can also try to find people in your local area that are willing to buy & sell bitcoins for cash. {If this is allowed in your

country} Try Bitcoin Meetups.  Roll Eyes

just use a bitcoin wallet (a full verification wallet like bitcoin core or a light wallet like Electrum). sites like Coinbase  are not a bitcoin wallet. they are custodial services that you can buy bitcoin and you can store bitcoin with them but you only have an account not a real wallet and they control your coins.

as for cashing out it depends on how much bitcoin we are talking about here!
you said donations but you didn't say how much. usually they are not big enough to even cash out. in which case just hold them, you can even use them to pay for stuff like your domain and hosting costs.

There is a FOMO brewing...

As you can see from the many exchanges that use complete data verification from the user, it is done because it has become the crypto regulation for now, your data will be safe in the exchange you mentioned, they are protected legal exchanges

You do need to follow a set of rules and regulations in the market that are created for the safety purposes of the market and for the people too. And there a set of regulations that need to be followed in order to open a wallet

Actually no one is above regulation. There are some regulations that will need to follow for the betterment of the market as well as for you. If you want to open wallet then you will have to follow such procedures.

You should follow the regulation for entering into this market. If you do not want to provide such documents then it is really difficult for you to have such account. You can also ask about this to any expert and experienced people who will help you a lot in this matter.

Bitcoin is an electronic asset which can operate world wide for the benefit of the humanity. This is a new form of economy with the strong net work systems linked with the modern technology.Bitcoin has the specific features such as a decentralized one with anonymity. Its all transactions are recorded in an electronic ledger with the block chain technology. The anonymity means the transaction are between the buyers and sellers only with out any third party interference. like the banks..
