This might be the least amount of support I have ever seen for an altcoin. This is how it should be since anybody can see it's a joke but somehow people are still mining? Who would waste the electricity to mine this thing? It's a high-risk, low-reward gamble and odds are you won't even turn a profit on it. Until people stop supporting crap like this it's going to continue to be churned out and pollute the market. The dev will be gone as soon as they can dump their holdings and this stuff is hurting the integrity of this entire market. They couldn't even bother to make some crap up to fool people into wanting the coin? This is some of the worst effort I've ever seen even for something designed to be a pump-and-dump from day 1. Cryptsy needs to give this goofball his money back and pull DaMaCoin off the voting list because this is just embarrassing. Meanwhile, there are several coins on that voting list with active devs and great communities that will be passed up again for this steaming turd. Maybe I'm getting too old for this stuff but the simple fact that anybody is mining this coin makes me lose even more faith in humanity. I was buying Murraycoin votes just to prevent DaMaCoin from being added until the Murraycoin dev contacted me and told me to stop buying Murraycoin votes ha. Apparently Cryptsy is considering removing DaMaCoin after looking into it so my fingers are crossed.

Well hello there "shanecoins" - you created an account on this forum just to make a (pointless) post in this thread? It's not that I don't "believe" in this coin - there is nothing to "believe" in - the facts are all out there and the dev isn't even trying to fool us. If he was smart, he would have said he was a 3-time Special Olympics champion or something - it's the perfect story for this coin. This dev has churned out multiple coins, none are going anywhere, and this is the worst of the bunch. The logo is a direct rip-off of the original Dimecoin logo:

I don't know which one to shoot!

Look how obnoxious the title of this thread is with a bunch of ASCII arrows/etc - there isn't a single thing this guy has done right. They didn't even spell-check the website. Let the market decide? Anyone with half of a brain knows exactly how this will play out once it's listed on Cryptsy. Zero innovation, no community, crappy developer who already has other failed coins they have launched - this doesn't even have a block explorer and it's going to be listed on Cryptsy? BATCOIN was absolutely another piece of crap with no future but it was still 10 times the coin this is. There is no reason for this to exist! If you support this coin, you are contributing to the eventual collapse of cryptocurrency as we know it. What you think is harmless is actually chipping away at the integrity of this entire market. Yes there are people stupid enough to buy this and make the developer a few bucks at their expense but why not limit the damage? We can't keep letting these jackasses get away with this. I'll stop posting in this thread but I'm just so sick of junkcoins. I love altcoins and it's sad to see what has happened due to greed and ignorance. Everybody is expecting an altcoin rebound - I'm not. I think we saw the final altcoin rebound last year where everyone smart realized crap coins like this would never stop and it was time to get out. What makes anybody - ANYBODY - think this coin has a chance to be something special? The developer isn't even lying to us - he's not even trying to hide the fact that this is a pointless clone and a cash grab. Look how much money he's spent on Cryptsy Points and BTC votes just to get it to the top of the list - $1500 is a lot of money to make back so you know this guy is just going to dump like crazy and drive the price into the ground. This coin and this entire thread are a huge embarrassment to crypto. Anyway I'm done posting in here so you can bury my post in nonsense and continue trying to trick new people into wasting their hard-earned money on this dumpcoin. Proceed.

You don't find it a bit disgusting that $200/day in electricity is being thrown into this coin that will ultimately do nothing else besides screw over a bunch of suckers to make the greedy dev a few hundred dollars (if he's lucky) in profit? How about the fact that every time people support these pointless clones, it's another nail being pounded into the altcoin coffin? In 12 months altcoins will no longer be actively traded and coins like this (and supporters like yourself) will be primarily to blame. Mark your calendars - you guys have ruined it for everybody.

This coin and this entire thread are a huge embarrassment to crypto.

That seems a bit excessive, wasn't the damage was already done a long time before? It's a bit arbitrary to choose to point an accusatory finger at this particular dev when the originators of Shitcoin, Fuckcoin, Fellatiocoin, RealStackCoin and the like are far more deserving targets for your vituperation.

The DamaCoin dev is clearly signed up for the long haul and, with the altcoin dev community currently in such disarray, that is almost enough justification by itself to place the coin on this week's "must buy" list.

I agree that the continued existence of DamaCoin and the dozens of other small community altcoins poses a bit of a mystery. For my part, I find the more rewarding challenge is in working out where my imagination is letting me down and causing me to fail to understand. (It's a line from a B-movie but the principle is sound - "If you don't challenge your prejudices, they will ultimately come to challenge you.")

Cheers,

Graham.

Disclosure, I have 1m+ DamaCoin in my wallet but I'm afraid I'm not a supporter per se, the coins are slated for a public faucet I'm working on, along with wallets of 1m MIM and 1m whatever-else-I-can-lay-my-hands-on-coin --- which I believe is launching next month :-)

I'm not discriminating or saying this is the only coin that is a problem - it's one of many. All I'm saying is as long as people continue to mine and buy this stuff hoping to make a few bucks by getting in earlier, they are dealing additional blows to altcoins in general. The DamaCoin dev is clearly signed up for the long haul?! Are you kidding me? He hasn't done anything to build a community or done anything to set this coin apart from the hundreds upon hundreds now out there. Why do you think he's wasting thousands of dollars to get it listed on Cryptsy this week instead of just waiting another week and saving all of that money? Because he knows this thing is going nowhere but down and he wants to dump immediately. The thing is, when people profit off this crap it's not like it's free money - they are making money at the expense of others. This dev is clearly signed up for the short term - the evidence is overwhelming. Last time I saw somebody aggressively buy votes like this out of nowhere was Takeicoin and the day after it hit Cryptsy and they dumped, news came out that George Takei's attorneys did not want him associated with the coin. Nobody is going to shell out that kind of money to get something listed a week sooner if they have a long-term plan - how naive can you be? If this coin is on your "must buy" list, you "must" be a moron. Anybody who buys this coin will lose money - watch and see.

This developer is one of the dumbest people I've ever had the displeasure of being made aware of.

It must be the Developer buying tons of votes at cryptsy, yet it seems like the entire community doesn't want it.......I can't wait to see this record setting drop in value.

I've exchanged PMs with him - the complete absence of coherence was frightening. Obviously I would just ignore it like most people if it wasn't for the fact that it's ahead of Murraycoin on Cryptsy! Murraycoin is the first coin I've been excited about in months and it cheapens it if it gets listed alongside this steaming turd. Don't get me wrong - I think it's another huge negative for altcoins in general if this coin gets listed on Cryptsy - but I'm in disbelief that this guy is wasting all of those bitcoins to buy votes and Cryptsy points to get a coin listed nobody wants. At least we know he'll lose money.

Maybe... just maybe... Cryptsy will actually use the "discretion" it claims to take into account when adding coins and just ignore damacoin, yes?

Unfortunately for the decent coins on the list, Cryptsy is so opposed to adding DaMaCoin that they apparently aren't adding anything this week. Their mining contracts are the addition instead. My guess is they're trying to decide how to handle DaMaCoin since BigVern couldn't even get the DaMaCoin wallet to function properly and they agree it's a piece of crap. Of course, because it's on top, they want to avoid controversy so this is an easy out. Also, I doubt they want to refund this goon the 4 bitcoins he's spent in votes. Maybe they can add a new market for it - DAMA/ShitCoin trading pair or something. I guess that means we wait longer on Murraycoin but I wasn't planning to sell anyway. Guessing the Murray devs are going to be pretty irritated.

Well let's see what happens. In all honesty, MRY should have been added last week after your contribution so I think it's pretty screwed up if they don't add it this week either. Pretty bogus - they should have known DaMaCoin was a joke sooner and not added it to the list. Not that hard for these Chinese guys to dump their various altcoins and buy votes with Cryptsy points. I know bholzer gave me a loan once to pay my rent in my Megacoin days - maybe ask him? Or sell him some of your MRY - I'm ashamed to say it but I had to sell him some a few weeks ago.
