While South Korea is fast becoming a formidable force to reckon with in the global cryptospace, it’s North Korean brother has been more interested in using its distributed ledger technology expertise to wreak havoc on the world.

In similar, more law-abiding news, a report from Yonhap on August 27, 2018, indicated that North Korea may be looking towards launching a cryptocurrency exchange rather than the next Ransomware.

It is not a surprise, Korea in front of the whole world and it always gets profit in the first wave of project's incomes. I suppose that they will be the leader soon.

I really don't see what the concerns with energy are. If people are paying for it, why does China care? Do they subsidize energy costs or something, doesn't really make sense to ban something that people pay for themselves. That's like saying you can't spend your own money how you want. What if you had a solar array, would they still have an issue with your energy usage? Either way, glad that countries are stepping up to the plate, even though cryptocurrency mining is almost dead.

North Korea has always been a crypto friendly country and the people are much enthusiastic towards cryptocurrency after the peak bitcoin reached last year. It is really good and was expected that North Korea will launch cryptocurrency exchange.

That's a good news. Sooner or later, every country in the world will accept cryptocurrency because cryptocurrency is the future to the digital transaction system. North Korea's step towards cryptocurrency is another big example of this.

Even though this is a great news that North Korea is taking an interest in the crypto market, but there are a couple of news that would be of great worry. According to the link in the post, it says that North Korea launched malware attacks on the South Korean email IDs to gain access to their wallets. This was even backed up by great. If this is true, then we have trouble coming.

This might be a bit of concern because the article says that GReAT found out that malicious bots were sent to attack the personal email addresses of those who have wallets. And this was specifically done to gain access to the wallets. And North Korea was behind it who did this to South Korea. So all in all, we need to be careful now.

The North Korean government wants to use the blockchain technology in order to break the economic blockade on its own. It is known that many invested in this issue.

As much as it seems like a good thing that the North Koreans have taken an interest in the market, some news were very disturbing. The one were bots were sent out to attack the emails in order to get access to wallets was scary. Let's hope this will not be the real reason behind it.

North Corea is heavily restricted by the international laws and treaties and the money laundering prevention systems. Even if they mine, they can´t cash it, or not easily at least.

Countries are using all the advancements of technology they have to their disposal and trying to use it to their advantage for a long time now. There's nothing we can do about what North Korea is intending to do. If they harness the advantage of crypto and DLT technology then it should a step for the crypto space regardless of how small it is.

All these buzz and fuss just directs towards the power and promise the blockchain and Distributed ledger technology holds and both of them are from the crypto sector which is altogether a good news for the technology's advancements but we can only pray that North Korea doesn't use it for mass destruction.
