I have a couple of questions about how Bitcoin Mining Software works. Firstly, does it run on my computer with a connection to the internet? or Does it run on a website / server hosted online? and second, Where can I get this software? and Roughly how much will software like this cost me? Tongue

Poke around the forums a bit, all your questions are already answered.  Cool

When the subject of buying BTC with Paypal comes up, I often remember this:

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Mining software runs on your computer, and it's freely available from various places.

BUT...

Bitcoin mining with a generic PC (even if it has a decent graphics card) is not going to be profitable - you need specialized hardware, forget about mining with your current PC. And buying specialized hardware (ASICs) is also very unlikely to return a profit unless you know really well what you need and what it is worth.

Firstly, does it run on my computer with a connection to the internet?

It runs off a Bitcoin only system called Compuserve.  You need a modem or if you're really lucky, an ISDN line.

Does it run on a website / server hosted online? and second,

It runs using Windows 95's communications program.  Make sure your baud rate is correct.

I'll send you it floppy disks.  It'll be £200+shipping.
