I definitely think NXTL is right on track and could end up being H U G E!
I was just pointing out an easy way to at least cut back on some of the bogus sock puppets stakes - just removing people who registered and then proceeded directly to this thread would put a huge dent in the number of multistakers.
Skillroad - since NXTL isn't really a clone of NXT, have you thought of maybe changing the name? I'm sure we could all come up with something awesome (and then nobody would think of this awesome project as just a clone of NXT). I think the fact that it is being built using nodejs is awesome and something that should definitely be advertised!
The First idea of NXT Lite was to cover the issues that NXT originally had, to make a coin that is more optimized in terms of accessibility and fairness! But since they changed the technology, they've thought about a major rebranding! But currently all the resources are focused on the development of the coin itself so appearance comes last. But i personally think that once we finish with the IPO and officially launch as a coin we might get a new Name! Probably will decide in a community vote, to be fair. If it was up to you, what name would you give to it??

Can't support that idea as it would kick me off the list as well. You have too make your first post somewhere...
You wouldn't be kicked off because you've made subsequent posts as well. I'm talking about people who register, post in this thread and then disappear. There are a bunch of them and they are very easy to spot so it would be a simple way for the NXTL admins to clean up the stake list. i dont think that its that easy. lots of people (like me) cant contribute anything valuable to this technical discussions going on in this forum. but those people can do other things, often they have more social contacts and talk to lots of people who are completely new to cryptos. i "infected" 7 friends of mine, they also told it to some of their good friends and so on. imo its important to have a good mix in the stakeholder list, not only programming-pros.

@Skillroad. All you need is a post count of at least 10 and have joined before the start of the IPO. Sure there will still be some that are prepared sockpuppets but it would get rid of 90% of them. You delaying this simple action makes me and others im sure wonder if you are happy to just take in sockpuppets. Don't forget the coin was supposed to be against the unfair nature of NXT. If you get one or two guys with 30+ stakes with less than 1000 total you will have some big stakeholders just like NXT.
+1, you have to do something with sockpuppet accounts.

I'll start thinking of some options to throw in the mix. This project is so much bigger than just "NXT Lite" - we need something epic! I'd love to see nodejs in the tagline or something as that is huge in technical circles right now. You guys focus on the IPO and client and all of us in the community can start thinking of the branding

(1) You can either restrict new registration for people with older accounts AND 50+ posts.
In this case there will be a lot of haters because it's "unfair distribution" ) Everyone should have equal opportuity to get into the coin. Or (2) just close new registrations. We already have enough people
We do have. But what about coin creators. They didn't do classic IPO where they could gather 200-300 Btc. Instead of it they sell super cheap stakes to as many people as possible. They won't make any money if they close registartion now. To be honest I don't know a solution. I fought Nem sockpuppets, found several pretty big scammers, but now they have an experience and won't make the same mistake again. Anyway I don't think there's such thing as "fair distribution". Money always come to those who have money. Rich guy could easily hire someone to make sockpuppets and buy stakes. In regular IPO he'll just invest 10 Btc and end up with the largest stake. Life is "unfair". All we can do is just deal with it.

I think for most of us, it is typically apparent what accounts look suspect, but there is always that small chance it's a new user genuinely looking to enter the crypto world. Basically not an easy problem to solve, looking forward to any enforceable solutions.
