Probably why theymos doesn't assign them to you, because cyrus doesn't do as much...
Theymos has been really efficient in his works though, it's quite impressive how dedicated he is to the forum.

I don't get the logic behind that. Surely that would be more incentive to add somebody else. What good is an admin if they're doing very little? Workload could be distributed between various mods. Theymos recently said that he's even thought about getting rid of ad slots because they're time -consuming to run and that just seems silly to me. Kill off the only source of income this place has? Pass that work on to someone else so theymos can crack on with coding the forum. The more workload he delegates the less stress and hassle for him and he's then free to do the more important stuff and the forum benefits in the process.

It might have been bringing in 1btc a long time ago, but I can't see them going for anywhere near that at current value. Maybe theymos should sell them at a fixed rate instead of running auctions. I've suggested before that there should be premium ad slot at the top of certain sub boards like this:



Businesses could target their market better (and which they would obviously pay more for). For instance a dice site could advertise in Gambling sub or a Campaign Manager in Services etc but theymos doesn't seem interested.

I think they sold for that price when we had the big bull run from £2000 to £14000, I think people were just confused as to what to do and they might still get enough impressions to pay back what they're paying...

I'm not sure I like the board idea either, it looks a bit in the way and a bit too much like what bitcoin garden do.

If he were to demand 0.5BTC for them, I think that he'd still get a lot of takers for it.
Maybe he could start an auction at a reserve price of 0.16BTC to make it a bit more interesting... Or when I get a bit more money, I could buy up every slot for 0.2BTC and see how many outbid me.

Each to their own, but I don't find them too intrusive, and it's not like the vast majority of websites on the internet don't offer such banners.

I always said it was too much work for just one person and now cyrus just doesn't seem to bother either so nothing gets done. At least BadBear used to look into half the stuff that needed doing.

I doubt it. I'm surprised people even bid on them to be honest. Especially when you can create your own crapcoin token and pay people for free to advertise. The slots are also barely even noticeable and are drowned out by all the signatures.

I think it'd  look quite impressive to some users that are loyal to the forum actually to see that a site has donated to the forum to advertise itself when it could have gone elsewhere with a much lower fee...

Theymos could create an automated advertising system for the forum for few selected spots like hilari spotted. This could really bring some good amount of revenue which could spend on hiring more staffs or any other positions that could eventually help the forum.  

Anyway, we all know theymos is not bothered with any of these (generating more revenue, hiring more staffs or having an in-house developer team etc), so talking about this - is kind of pointless.

I think starbucks accepted bitcoin at the weird point in 2015 when swagbucks were trying to get people to use them in order to store their nectar points and starbucks points and quite a few other cards all in one place (although I don't think many people actually did).

Bitmain should be advertising here, or at least still be active. The fact that they aren't says something about the mining boards, imho.

I think it's more telling of them as a business. They realise all they have to do is announce a product and the advertising will be done for them, with no cost or effort.

Canaan and their distributors have taken a different approach. They have a different view of customer support, and post on the forum. If I'm not mistaken cryptouniverse did actually advertise on the forum recently.

The hardware section has changed. There has been another point of view added to the mix, in regards to the difference between moderation and overmoderation. It has also been shown that there is a respected hierarchy and if there is an issue posting on Meta can net action or response to the issue.
