What do you think of the idea of having a 50 merit award project for Heroes? There are already lots of awards for members helping with forum stats, so I was thinking of something that would help members expand their interest in the Bitcoin economy. I'm a bit stumped over the project though. So many things are available already.

I always notice your efforts, I also notice efforts from hilariousetc and other members as well. Good thing that we are giving our best shots. It would be nice if some of the trusted members could work closely with theymos although we all know the reality for theymos.

Just award the merits... don't stress too much. I see you are one of the person who stress too much (I am not saying it's bad by the way but thing is it's hard to find people to fulfill the stander you expect) when it comes to awarding merits. Don't make merit looks too hard to receive.

Maybe you can make a polling for member you feel fulfill the requirements or qualifications that you and another member have determined to be able to get merit. After being selected you can make a challenge so that they do something to get it and but it can be going if they is willing to follow the challenge that have you made.

To be honest, no doubts you are a good promoter of merit system & you are a potential member of forum. As far as I know most if your self topic about merit or for merit. But I don't think as a merit source you distributed merit accordingly.

I think merit distribution is too low as a merit source. I am not sure if you are assign for any specific board. Although I don't know how many smerit reserve for source monthly. I saw for Vod , theymos was commented ;

I think also you are nearly of 300. In think you are making much complicated merit system. Perhaps  not much people's  meet your requirement.  I guesses you are not spending all of smerit that you received from theymos(IMO).  However it's it's depend on you how you are going to spend your smerit. It would be better to concentrate distribute your smerit instead write topic about merit. Because you are a merit source.

Btw, don't take it personally. At least all the merit source should spend their smerit whatever they received from admin. There is any benefits if dry your monthly smerit ? I don't think so.

I'm only a junior merit source, and I don't know what my quota is. It isn't as simple as saying it is 300, as you have to consider the refreshment rate. Also, I'm spending too much time hunting for post to merit, and my selection process may mean that I miss a few good posts. Some of my broadbrush ignore triggers are -

- All caps titles.
- Coloured text of fancy formatting
- Full quotes of adjacent or original posts.
- Unnecessary or oversized images or text
- Begging for merits
- ICO promotion on general boards.

Maybe they are too broad, but you have to do something to avoid dedicating your life to merits. I only open threads that are at least mildly interesting, and where I can get an understanding of the topic from the title. So titles such as "beginner", " Bitcoin", "please help" or other non-specific phrases don't get opened. Threads started by people on my ignore list don't get opened either, so anyone posting in them will be missed by me.

I've started quite a few initiatives, and I've started to back away from them. With a few exceptions, most people can't be bothered to do anything here, unless it provides a chance to display their bounty signatures. I considered starting a political photo submission thread, but I decided that would soon fill with stolen images, or no relevant pictures of cats or cars.

Here is my merit source comment at the moment,

You are a merit source. The next 1 merit you spend will come from your source rather than your sMerit balance. Merit spent from your source will come back in 30 days. Unused source merit is wasted. It is not allowed for merit sources to sell their merit.

This is after today's awards. and no doubt I will receive a top up tomorrow. The 50 for a hero post would come from my personal sMerits which I keep in reserve for those special posts and projects. You will see that I don't store my source merits.

I think you have a source of merit and you should give those you feel worthy to receive great things from you. The prizes that you create can also help them achieve merit but you can hardly check if they are cheating or not.

Then don't spend any more time doing so.  Award merit for good posts that you come across, but I don't think we need any special project to award extra merits.  The merit system is supposed to make it hard to rank up, especially for shitposters, and it's fulfilling that purpose.  You're acting like a person who has money burning a hole in his pocket.  There's no reason you have to give out merits any faster than you are.

We all know the reason why it's hard to find good posts.  There aren't that many to be found!  I don't think you, as a merit source, are obligated to get rid of those sMerits just because you have them.  You're fully justified in being selective.  If I was a merit source I probably wouldn't give out merits any more frequently than I currently do, though I'd probably give 2-5 sMerits per good post instead of 1.

Just chill out and do your best--and I know you're already doing your best, so just chill out.

Heros have to collect 500 merits to become legendaries, and it's not easy. You can check the ranked up topic, there are only a few of the heros (who started with 500 merits, and has not received 1000 initial merits as a hero) were able to rank up, one of them is JC
So just think about any challenge and I'm not afraid to face it

Just make them bring back the Bitcoin Discussion Board back to us, as stimulate the discussions and self-moderated threads there. Nothing is better that a good discussions and there is the right place to make them, /i know now is a bit shity, but we have to do something to take it back, as someone already mentioned it/

As long as they deserved it, why not? Getting into the LEGENDARY Rank as of now is quite a challenge for the Hero Members so it's just a small thing of help I guess.
But first, check their posts if they're plagiarized or not .

In all reality though, what's the rush to ranking up. In the beginning members would quickly shut down lower rank members who looked at this daunting task and complained. These members needed a reality check of how the reality of the forum has changed. I think that some higher rank members need this to, but some see yourself and whoever else achieved the rank rather quickly and expect the same result.

I've said it before, ranking up now requires more than a pulse and an internet connection. The amount of Merit people receive is somewhat proportional to quality and activity throughout the forum not just a board or 2. Unless that board is Meta, which is one of the more heavily weighted merited boards.

Instead of this massive prize, why don't you devote a portion of the time you would spend hunting for newbie posts and read through some hero accounts.

That means,

I'm not going to lie, your post makes no sense and the more I read it the less I understand. I'm guessing you do not understand the idea behind the OP.

Secondly and most importantly you need to properly cite your sources for the quotes you are using. I was on the fence about reporting you for Plagiarism and am giving you the benefit of the doubt here, only because you placed them within quotation marks. This can be done even by simply writing the person's name or the text it was taken from after each quote. I did not look any further than the second one which appears to be paraphrased, but the first is a direct quote.

I did try and look through your post history to see if this is a systematic pattern but most posts are either a bounty or in the local Indonesian board.
