I see the GTX 750 video cards from Nvidia are getting decent reviews for coin mining. I see that some have 1 GB of RAM, and some have 2 GB. Would this RAM difference matter for coin mining speed?

The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

No, 1 vs. 2 doesn't matter. The part of the GPU that's being utilized is the GPU processor.

GTX 750 is not as good as you think. Better wait for the big 20nm cards, you'll save those 150$.

It's not going to be the highest performer compared to a top end GPU but it stands out for high hashpower for relatively little power use compared to most GPUs which deliver a similar amount of hashpower.Look up that article and you'll see what I'm talking about (though I wish I didn't forget the link to it as I could give it to you) No GPU will be as efficient as an ASIC for scrypt mining but they're not widely available at a reasonable price yet so GPUs are still great for mining these coins

1- GPU mining is now for alternative currencies such as litecoin. 2- You can view an estimate of how cards perform here. https://litecoin.info/Mining_hardware_comparisonI recommend an ATI, Nvidia cards do not perform well for mining... Someone correct me if I am mistaken.

Someone correct me if I am mistaken. This is just the latest article on the subject. If you're reading about Nvidia 750 Ti you're reading about low power draw scrypt mining

Memory makes no difference. But then, mining bitcoin with GPUs makes no sense now, so I guess you're talking about mining altcoins.

Yes, altcoins. But I'd just buy a bunch of 750's and just hold them until supply ran short and the price rose, then sell them for profit.
But I decided not to even do that right now.

Memory becomes important when you try to mine high N-factor coins such as Yacoin. For scrypt mining, 1 GB will do just fine. Christian

OP didn't mention bitcoin and posted in the "Mining (Altcoins)" section. What made you think this was about bitcoin?
