I don't think ICOs are just dead yet, with promising ICOs like Mfchain, Utrust among projects working to bring about mass adoption of cryptocurrency. I will advise you hold your ether, though the decision is completely upto you to make. You can learn how to trade too.

You have to close your eyes with the current market of this year that is not in favor of ethereum at all as its decreases its value to half of its original price back january 2018. At present the market is indeed experiencing a very deep down. But for me that is a normal thing in the cryptocurrency world because of fluctuating prices.
If I may give me better advice you hold all of your ETHs and be patient waiting for the time when prices start to rise high. Maybe this time is not a good time for altcoin but I am sure if someday prices will rise again. And we just need to be patient waiting for that to happen.

For me it is better to hold more with ETH because ETH is a very good potential coins like bitcoins it has also lots of features.
