I'm basically thinking whether to spend more time in crypto in terms of contributing, developing, or launching new projects . 4 months ago, I was super excited with the the possibilities. The rise of steemit, d.tube, airdrop/ico websites gaining traction, ethereum games, blockchain companies launching their own venture funds. I felt it was the right space to be in. I've developed some small projects here and there, and looking for some extra motivation on what kind of projects to build.

I'd invest my time and resources in entertainment. It's always a profitable business!
The main point is to create something unique and not to be restricted to just collectible games like cryptopunks and so on.

There is only game I put my money in - 0xUniverse, but it's such a pity that there is no games like this.

So, go for games! Hope you could build something that could compete with console games

https://www.augmentorsgame.com/ the Blockchain-based augmented reality game was one of the best Crypto currency

related projects that I have seen so far, but there have been some close contenders. I want to see some MMORPG and MMO

games that incorporate the Lightning Network and showcase the strength of cheap and instant micro payments on the

Bitcoin network.  Wink

There are a lot of project that are blockchain and crypto related but what makes me more interested are those project that focuses more on blockchain innovations like zero-fee atomic swap, cross-chain and inter-blockchain transactions, medical projects and blockchain based manufacturing processes. These are the upcoming innovative solution in respect to their field.

lightning networks?

that's got to offer the most numerous and interesting possibilities that weren't available before. it also is one of those things that's going to require a lot of development before people realise the potential it harbors.

if I had the skills that's where i'd be directing my efforts.

The lightning network have a better concept and a promising future but their project is still on a beta testing stages for a longtime which I think they ought to have finished by now. This is the reason why I will vouch for Merit as the most interesting crypto related project base on what the project will deliver.

uh, yeah. that's why it's the most promising area to work and develop in. it still needs to be refined and the potential has been barely tapped. we don't know where it could end up but it could be world changing.

if i had the ability that's where i'd be working.

One thing that really blew my mind recently was the gaming dApps that have been coming out. Didn't realize how relevant the blockchain could be for games like Cryptokitties and Gods Unchained.

There is this EOS based project I like alot called Scatter... https://get-scatter.com  It is basically an identity and reputation Blockchain project. It can be used for authentication, recording and monitoring of your online reputations. . You have full control over it and It's private/anonymous. It is much better and safer than centralized identity system.. I think we need  in Crypto World where privacy and anonymity matter but scammer have taken advantage of this and ruin it all for us.

My only concern with identity schemes like this is that they end up being forced on people by websites, governments and platforms instead of being voluntary. This must be prevented.

Still studying the project to fully understand it.

  Quote from the website:
Quote
"Scatter’s reputation and identity system follows you across all blockchains, websites and applications."

There are some others Blockchain projects I find very promising. Can't post them now for the sake of time.

In my opinion casinos are the most interesting project crypto related.

I have been working for those project as staff and as developer already for 4 years, and just love it, is a crazy madness to see all those btc rolling day by day, and is a madness to understand how does that complex engines works from inside. The beautiful maths behind a provably fair engine, and the depos and withdrawals systems. Just feels awesome to be part of this new paradigm and understand it from it's roots.

A betting site that accepts different cryptocurrencies I know a lot of this kind of sites are already existing but what Im talking is a site like Directbet.eu since it was closed months ago I have not seen any site that can replace the way direcbet is operating its one of a kind betting platform where you can play a game in seconds with no effort of creating accounts.

NEO (neo.org) — Reasons including a strong management team, an amazing global open community of developers (City of Zion), strategic partnerships with other companies, digital identity, and smart economy. NEO’s functionality is similar to Ethereum but is extremely undervalued in my opinion. NEO also supports many popular development languages such as Java, .NET, Python and others.

OmiseGO (omisego.network) — This is one of the most promising projects in the entire crypto space. Omise is an already existing company in Asia with a strong team and advisors that include the founder Ethereum, Vitalik Buterin. They have several strong partnerships with major companies in Asia. Their promise is to unbank the banked.

BAT (basicattentiontoken.org)— Basic Attention Token (BAT) is one of the few projects in this space that have an already working product. Brave is a web browser created by the BAT team that improves the efficiency of the digital advertisement industry. The founder of BAT is the same person who created the highly popular web development language, Javascript.

Golem (golem.network) — If the development team succeed in releasing a functional product as they have promised, Golem will truly be one of the best use cases for the blockchain technology. Golem is trying to create the first decentralized global supercomputer. Their mission is to use all the unused computing power around the world (including personal devices) to increase rendering efficiency that requires massive computing power to function (such as animation movies).

Civic (civic.com) — With the major credit bureau hacks this year, Civic is trying to solve the identity security issue. They also have a functioning product (Civic App) that lets your identity be easily verified on the blockchain with a QR code. With a simple scan of a QR code, civil is removing the pain of user sign-ups/sign-ins. They already have several major partnerships that include wikiHow.com and many others.

Most interesting to me is Bitspark (but I think they rebranded to Spark) which has been around for 4 years doing bankless transfers using Bitcoin and now Bitshares as well. The amount this team has achieved is insane, they are asia based so I guess that's why they get little recognition. They have a fully working and live platform, mobile app and decentralised exchange which they put money transfers through for cash based users! Really recommend talking a look at them.

Decentralised exchanges is what's been on my mind since 2016, and last year was when I thought we'd be seeing some. What we have now our only semi-decentralised exchanges... with us reliant on software and on servers still.

P2P exchanging might also see a revival with Bisq, so I'm really looking forward to that.

This is definitely top of my list, and I'm seeing now even mobile wallets designed to use LN. BTC thresholds are getting bigger, merchants are slowly getting interested, and apps are coming on board. I thought it would only be 2019 before we'd see this type of interest but for once Bitcoin 2nd layer upgrades are taking on a life of its own.

I'm hopeful that along with that other 2nd layer stuff like escrow (easy Bitcoin escrow please!) will also develop nicely, very complementary to LN to me!

One thing that really blew my mind recently was the gaming dApps that have been coming out. Didn't realize how relevant the blockchain could be for games like Cryptokitties and Gods Unchained.

They piqued interest, but as you can see from transactional volumes, they've been plunging some depths for months now. I don't see these as anything more than a passing fad, to be replicated and copied to death, to always linger on, but never to reach lasting status.

Not really talking about project in specific, but in my opinion the most interesting topics are increasing tps and storing data making it accessible in an efficient way. Those are key points which will allow to build basically everything using blockchain tech.

I appreciate most projects that consider the trade of bitcoin or other tokens for goods and services. Projects like INS, stuffgogo, and other crypto online trade, they fulfill the initial purpose of cryptocurrency as exchange unit. Other token are crypto related like the exchange tokens eg binance, bibox, hybridblock, exbase etc.

I have heard a lot good stuff about NEO. Wonder why very few people are using the Cryptocurrency.
Here is an interesting site that ranks the activities on Blockchains. NEO is not even among the top 10 Blockchains. https://blocktivity.info
Is there a reason why developers don't find the Cryptocurrency interesting?

Sometimes I dont believe Jack on those sites at times if I they have no track record of credibility. I also consider the site or page to be old. NEO is the ethereum of the Chinese world and the community is large enough to keep pushing it. Its growth had been healthy and consistent, though the prevailing market had deprived the price with its large trade volume
