A lot of crypto people have been speculating on this matter and most of them agree that crypto should thrive given the stock crasch.  I personally think that this could be the catalyst which could start a good rally but as far as we have seen , the stock market crash havent given much effect on crypto. This is quite interesting in my view.

bitcoin is not yet mature enough for investors to be considered a solid place to go because of its extreme volatility and the unpredictable nature of it. but at the same time it has been one of the investment options among investors for a while now.

I really believe that the next time the market crashes it is going to be way bigger than what we saw in 2008, I say this because it is very likely that the next crisis it is going to be a crisis related to the currencies of the world, people are going to see that the value of their currencies goes down every single day and they are not going to agree with that because they will understand that the government is stealing value out of their pockets with inflation and at that point the most valuable thing in the world will be a good currency.

And while many will decide to adopt gold there are going to be many individuals that are going to understand that gold can be easily confiscated and will decide to adopt cryptocurrencies instead.

I believe that question has been answered with the insane drop in the bitcoin price in the past month when the market has been doing a bit bad as well. I mean I have talked about this before but honestly when the market is going down people are losing money and it is much more sane to sell your crypto assets first to get some cash before you start selling your stocks.

Stocks are there for the long run in peoples minds to this day whereas crypto is something new and more dangerous and more mysterious so people do not trust them as much as they trust stocks. Hence when the stocks collapse and something like 2008 happens the first thing people will do is sell their crypto assets in order to create some cash help and with that injection of cash probably get more stocks to drop the average down.

Alot of stock money is hot money or borrowed and so gold is not suitable in that way.    The majority of money going into gold comes from bonds I think, as an alternative holding for central banks or similar requiring long term storage of capital and the possibility to issue securities or debt against that capital.

Its been a long time since government issued paper notes against gold for people to use.   So I think Bitcoin is an alternative for global use to spend, Im not sure the poorest people will buy BTC to hold unless they are also increasing their usage of it.

2008 dynamic is that US Dollar strength rose or DXY.    Its not stocks so much that matter but the currency value and its usage and if that declines then BTC might rise in usage and price.
