I've noticed recently that the number of newbie accounts posting messages with almost no added value whatsoever. Examples of these newbie accounts are (links redirect to the list of messages posted by the account): - trafficburg - liquider - dotmango - clickcrawl - dotlytics - dotvoltMost of these messages are either service related questions (with very poor grammar). Examples of these kind of messages (taken from the list above): - What you charge? - Price - Package charges - What your packages - Price very high - Extremely expensive - What is your budget? - Facebook followers cost - Very good service - Cost - PortfolioOther messages that make even less sense are 'bump'-messages on topics that they do not own. Examples linking to their corresponding post: - Bump - Up - Up - Bump - Bump - Up - Bump - BumpNone of these bumps are on topics that they own and make therefore no sense at all. I am not sure if this has already been discovered by anyone else and I am also not sure how much of a problem this is going to be, but this activity seems very suspicious (and perhaps simulated by some kind of bot?). Anyone have an idea what the reasoning behind this would be?

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the
subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The
subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

A 5 day auto-lock for posters making certain single words post could cure that. Include words like bump, up, and maybe even some longer phrases such as "up she rises".

A lot of threads are getting necrobumped and most of the last posts are from newbies posting similar messages with different links. I haven't checked the link but it might be a phishing link. These posts are spread throughout multiple boards (bitcoin discussion, beginners & help, marketplace). I've made several reports already and they're not stopping please nuke these accounts. If i am not mistaken about rules of bumping threads, it is allowed every 24-48 hours, but two to three times a day, it is clearly a spamming, and most of the shiller/bumping accounts are newbie to jr. Members, the only solution to it is to report to moderator. And i already reported some of those accounts.

I had reported some of the posts made by the 3 dot* accounts earlier already. They're nuked now. This one is still active. I'll report that one too, asking to be nuked.

Other messages that make even less sense are 'bump'-messages on topics that they do not own. I usually note down the name of the thread OP when I see others bump the thread. It can be potential evidence that the OP is using alts. I then keep a close eye on the OP for messages that are the same as the Bots or alts and report them for plagiarism if it turns out the case. I also take specific note of the senior accounts that appear to bump or shill scams or spammed threads. Sometimes they are the senior accounts of bot operators and a lot of intel can be gained from their previous posting history. I then keep a close eye on the senior account for messages that are the same as the Bots or alts and report them for plagiarism if it turns out the case. Banning senior accounts and copper members that start the ANN hurts the spammers more than reporting their newbie bot accounts. I'm not advocating NOT reporting the newbie accounts and if your are reporting masses of newbie accounts - you have my respect - I'm just saying: "keep an eye out for opportunity to hurt them hard by banning senior accounts and copper members that start the ANN"The spammers spam so frequently that they occasionally slip up and spam using the wrong account.

I get your point and definitely agree, but the main problem here is that you cannot know with 100% certainty whether the newbie account is actually an alt or not. For example, one of the bump messages was posted on one of my topics, and I'm pretty sure that I did not initiate that message.

The quality might not be of the highest form, but I would not immediately jump to the conclusion that this is a spam account, because the proof is not evident enough.
