That's all very well for most of the population, but what about the atheists? They have no hope!

That's all very well for most of the population, but what about the atheists? They have no hope! Yes, most of the population would die praying like they always do... The atheists would survive, because they took actual action instead of blindly hoping for some nonexistent uberfather-figure to save them. Realistically, it would be up to the atheists (as usual) to save the people around them who do nothing useful.

Pff... I'm so glad it's not a stellar event then if an Asteroid is headed towards us. It's that ficticious uber-father figure gullible/uneducated people call "god". But the book "revelation" is pretty much in line with other science fiction "OMG the end is near! Sinners repent!" stories - they're just science fiction. So let me add Reveleation : 27 "And so the doometh man looketh up to the sky and launcheth their most devastating fiery fire towards it. And it burneth. And man looked at what he had done, for it had destroyeth god's powers. And man decided it was good. Man at last had himself set free from the playful and destructive powers of god." Everybody lived happily thereafter.

aaah, in other words, "Is superstition real or fictitious?" I grew up being a superstitious Christian, but now I side with the populace who questions the validity of the Bible, and according to recent studies this number is growing. Glad to hear it.

Too similar to something ~14 years ago. I'll believe it when we are in much more danger.

People often find the answers to their prayers in their own mind, and somehow think that it's the outer voice of God, as it happens simultaneously. Stupid people, that is.

no 1.praying doesn't work 2. even if it does, God is supposed to love us not destroy us with an asteroid Praying might well work. You activate your brain activity focusing on one problem, and you might find the solutions to that problem by doing so, by yourself. And that's often what people confuse with being answered by God. However it can't physically change anything, move an object, or stop an asteroid from hitting us. Also, if praying doesn't work, why would you refer to God as the one destroying us with an asteroid?
