So are we praying to the rock to spare us or to something else hoping for some divine intervention?

I think the discussion is: If an asteroid is set to hit earth with 100% certainty, can we, if we as a human race pray hard enough, stop it from happening?

I get that but I guess I get confused when people say pray I tend to think of the prayers being directed somewhere but I guess I'm just over thinking it. So yea my answer is going to be, no sadly we will meet our demise.

What will happen if an asteroid having 50m diameter, and entirely made up of gold hits the earth? The nation where it lands will be the richest country in the world. Everyone will automatically become millionaires.

Not really, government will took it. Nobody will ever saw this again. Nobody gets nothing from it, aside from top officials. This is the way it is.

No, it's not, the reasoning is as broken as your english. Remember that that much gold would make the value of gold decrease, just like printing more money takes away it's value (inflation). What corrupt country do you live in where "top officials" would get away with taking a 50m diameter lump of gold? Gee wiz.

Good luck hope you will see the gold. Objects with a diameter of roughly 50 m (164 ft) strike Earth approximately once every thousand years, producing explosions comparable to the one known to have detonated roughly 8.5 kilometers (28,000 ft) above Tunguska in 1908. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tunguska_event

We'll just have to make sure it doesn't bounce back to space...

no 1.praying doesn't work 2. even if it does, God is supposed to love us not destroy us with an asteroid And we are supposed to love god. We are supposed to love earth. It has long been prophesied that earth would destroy us as we had destroyed her, we can change that fate by loving earth and seeking forgiveness. She is our home after all. You go into someone's home and tear shit up, you're going to get kicked out. Earth is the same. Praying does work.

Praying does work.
Quite the opposite. Especially for someone without a soul, like you dank. Dank Soul Guarantee - Danksurance The Dank Soul Gurantee is my karma based system of insurance. I acknowledge and respect that karma would play a negative role on me if I were to steal anybodies deposit, thus, offering an incentive to not perform such an action. Dank Bank, as with many other investment opportunities, is largely trust based. I hereby give my word and my soul that I will perform as an honest trader, no exceptions.
(mod edit: dank has refused to repay, and thus forfeited his collateral - his soul)

I just wish a guy like dank would permanently make predictions on Stock- or Coin markets - given the fact that he is 100.00% wrong almost 100.00% of the time... he would literally be the perfect contra-indicator (and actually provide something useful for the community for a change ).
