When you say CPU miner I suppose you mean a miner software right? And what do you mean build? Build from scratch? There are plenty of CPU miners already available, you don't have to build one. By the way, correct me if I'm wrong but these days  I don't think you can earn $2 a day by using your CPU only. You will have to include GPU mining as well. Or you could mine a coin that you think will be profitable in the future.

(at least 2$ a day) To reach $2 a day even hard with CPU mining, if it what you mean with CPU miner. Moreover when you built from scratch, maybe you need also thinking about cost return. GPU mining may be more reasonable, but it will cost you more.

• Build a Core2 Quad 2.666 GHz 12M (older version) PC with minimum specs. There are tons of super cheap secondhand units of these in the market, cheaper than an i7 but the performance for Criptonight V7 didn't have a very high gap.
  
• Download/install a (non-malware or scam) cryptonight miner with good number of userbase like: JCE Miner Cryptonight/forks
  
• Select a pool that mines the coin of your choice (either Monero[XMR] or Electroneum [ETN])
  
• Point your miner to the pool (check the pool's guide, some has an internal wallet, some haven't)
  
• And this is the most important part: plug your computer to your neighbors's garage without their consent in order to profit. (just kidding)

If you're dead serious on "profiting" $2 a day, just install an Electroneum miner on your mobile phone and leave the internet connection and the app open in the background.
It will "generate" ETNs for you as long as your phone isn't turned off, it's not even mining at all (if they still didn't updated it).
That's it, you didn't even need to buy anything.

i am already minning ETN on my phones all my family members have this app and i am not selling them

One of the greatest CPU built over all time is in my humble opinion as an IT certified guy is the AMD  Ryzen 2 Threadripper 2990wX. It has a 32 cores and it can make that 2 dollars daily that you are asking if you don't pay for the electricity.

Still it is one of the most expensive CPU-s out there so maybe these two don't fit well together. You should stay with a 8 core new CPU as it is more budget friendly and if not 2 at least can that 1 dollar for you daily.

If you already have your CPU and are looking for a CPU mining software many of the altcoins that are mined via CPU has a built in software for mining like the BCN -Bytecoin does.

At $2 per day it is likely he will never recover his hardware investment unless he has access to free electricity.  To clear $2 a day he needs something pretty substantial.  At that point all you have to do is go to a mining profitability calculator and plug in your variables and go from there.

if he has free power and makes the right rig  he could do okay.

i dont think it would be worth it you would need to mine at least 3 months at 2 dollars a day just to pay for a gpu to mine that much
