and to add also, if theres no chance of winning in gambling then there would be no people getting addicted to it.
there are games you can play with best odds like blackjack with very low percentage of house edge depending on the casinos. so maybe try those games first.
 but on my end, i always set a loss limit. this will keep me on track with my budget.

Well gambling is huge word. First if you gambling in casino games roulette poker or blackjack for example then you need to good in strategy.
