Right from the onset, the ability to control your self is the only way you will not end up becoming an addict in the long run. Most gamblers tend to set their mind by default towards winning at all cost and that itself has really cost them a whole lot.

For me it is the opposite. You can only earn a profit in gambling in the short run. I don't know how can you say that it is the long run but is reality, it is only the short run.

Why I can say that? In gambling, we don't really win that much, in fact it is so seldom we got addicted to it wanting to get back what we had lost and if you will be having a record of your lost money and the money you had won, you still has more lost money than won money. It is natural fact that nobody can win money in gambling every time. No doubt that sometimes you will win the bet but mostly you will lose when you continue gambling for long time. Well, you have a point but the thing is that you will never win in gambling if you will be having a summation of all of your used money on gambling and compare it to the amount of money you had won, you will see the difference. In reality you will be able to see that earning money through gambling is hard, you are risking your money in a way that you are betting it based on how lucky you are that day while in trading or investing, we risk our money, we invest or trade money accepting the risk in a way that we are basing it on our knowledge and skill on interpreting a project. Gambling and Investing is not really far to each other but there are still a huge difference to these two.
