I do not think that in the absence of money, someone will confess to you. Self-respecting developers try to keep it a secret, much nicer to watch a project that is doing well in the financial part, rather than those who do not have a penny in their pocket.

But the party stops without money and the devs should be obliged to let their investors know what happened to their money. It is not self-respecting if you keep that a secret. It is arrogant and fraudulent.
