A scammer tried to fool me today on Telegram so i decided to post in here their workflow so you don't fall for it.

Basically they contact you pretending to be unable to withdraw their fund because of China regulations, so they make you register on their scammy/fake website ( crypto-home.info ) so they can transfer their btc to you and you simply have to withdraw and send back to them. The scammer sent me 0.95 fake BTC, promising 0.2 BTC reward.

The catch is when you try to withdraw, this happens:

 Grin Grin

This is our conversation, is so fun to make them waste time and burn an account.

Stay safe people, no one will ever give you free money!

This kind of scam attempts have recently popped out (I can give you a lot of cases). The catch is that people skip to run their mind and trust them right away because the user tries to trust with him with his fund for the front and he gets paid for helping him out.

Only users who gets scammed from this are who doesn't notices this:

1) Why you need to deposit for frozen balance?
2) If it is frozen for account verification related issue then they should ask for documents and not money?
3) Its interesting that the user trusted such exchange that is new and people never heard of with such huge amount.

I just saw the same scam being used against another user yesterday: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5030497.msg45815581#msg45815581

Seems like that they somewhat copied the design of CEX.io, and modified a few parts of it (check out the actual cex.io site if you'd like).

Anyways, thanks for exposing how the scammers operate as it pretty much verifies my suspicions in the beginning. Some scammers will tell you to send the funds to them before you even request a withdrawal, which obviously is no different in the end result.

The rule is simple - if you see any exchanges which you don't recognise, research and be careful. Most likely, they're sites used by scammers as a bait. Also, if you're approached by anyone on telegram for favours, they likely don't have good intentions.

today same case happened to me through telegram.and i just checked his telegram account and found no username then i ask him to provide username so that i can connect him by my other telegram account and he set up his username. after that same process carried and he asked me registered email and sent me 0.8978 fake btc. when i tried to withdraw it seemed need to deposit 0.015 btc to the provided address to verify my account to release frozen balance. after that i tried to investigate and found no twitter or telegram or any other social account of site (https://crypto-core.info) and even i searched on google and all exists a big scam....please be aware and share with your friends.

You will find all this kind of things on Telegram. They are always camping exchanges Telegram channels and the moment a person asks a question that looks like it is coming from a Crypto newbie they will instantly be messaging him/her with a tag name similar to one of the admins and pretend that they want to help, of curse we all know the next move asking for password or private key to helping in withdraw or despot.

Thanks for posting, that might save someone's money.
