is ECC equipped with Kimoto Gravity Well / KGW?
No, KMG is not needed because the difficulty retargets with every block. Yes, it's added to the OPs Faq.

what about spreading hash power guys??! our pool is working very fine: stratum never failed, frontend is fast now... but only 150MH/s, we lack miners! our pool was the FIRST one to support EC Coin! please come on to http://ecc.coins4everyone.com and let's hash some more blocks! ;-)

I've just spent all afternoon and a better part of my evening trying to get a P2Pool node running for ECCoin because I really wanted one of the 200k bounties... but I have come to the conclusion that it was a big waste of time Since ECCoin is based off Peercoin, it will need the yet-to-be-released changes that will allow p2pool to work with these coins. There is currently a protocol incompatibility. Weekly Update #75 There will be a change with the release plan of peercoin. I have decided to include a minor protocol change for future p2pool support so the release will become a mandatory upgrade release. There will be at least 4 weeks or more upgrade window provided to users. The previously planned v0.3.1 will become the v0.4.0 release, and the previous v0.4 development would become the v0.5 development.
Weekly Update #80 Peercoin v0.4 is going through final round of validation. Release candidate will be announced in a few days once all tests complete and build starts. The upgrade schedule will be fixed before release candidate according to what I described last week.
Oh well... at least I have my ECC vanity address: ESnowLehcXPQoGFBCgS8ZHzCfHXW3VUk48

is ECC equipped with Kimoto Gravity Well / KGW?
In almost every thread some people ask this question... do people understand what KGW means and what it does? KGW was created to handle diff retarget every N blocks, where N>1. Multi-pools jump on and off the mining causing diff to oscillate, and they mine only at diff low period. So diff retargets each block will avoid the problem. Also the diff retarget algo should approach the targeted value in an exponential way, otherwise it could cause forced oscillations. The ECC uses the algo of diff retarget from Peercoin, which is the first to design such algorithm. Clearly Kimmo or whoever re-invented the same thing with a more computing-expensive formula which uses exponents directly (Peercoin uses same type formula, except it simplified formula with polynomial stype functions). Peercoin formula is faster than exponential explicit formula. So guys, before you understand what KGW means, don't post again this stupid question.

Thank-you very much! And congratulations on passing the over 2 billion mined mark If anyone is wondering about generating a vanity address for themselves, simply use the command-line option -X 33 for the ECC coin type.
