what a foul miner this is.

IF you want 44ths DCR miners get at me far more efficient than this bitmain old crap they've been mining with for months.

I was early on the Z9 mini's which had a similar quick 2 month payback.  3 months later mining about 30% from where it began and still not paid back.  Will be lucky if that happens by year end.

Then why you ordered the DR3's?

I'm a gambler.

If antminer holds the max of two for first batch these look to ROI before the D1 is shipped out.

Was on crack earlier? I see only profits of $10/day with $0.12 power cost with this unit now.

One algo, one coin, Not the most efficient, difficulty will skyrocket , not worth it unless you have free or very cheap power.

Plugging in the numbers, it's $12/day revenue, $9 profit at 9 cents power.

Assume they ship 3k units, which increase difficulty by 25% over a month, revenue down to $9/day, profit $6/day. Seems like a 100 day payback investment, but whatsminer DCR shipping in 60 days.

Nah this will get wrecked.

nailed it lol

Bitmain likes to do dirty tricks with SOLD OUT to cause FOMO to save their company from going bankrupt. Nice try bitmain, that worked last year but 2018 is way different.

This shit ain't sold out. Especially with 25 percent added tariff's and a far superior DCR miner comming out from. Whatminer, plus obelisk DCR going online. I would not touch bitmain DCR with a 10 feet pole.

If you want DCR that badly just buy the damn coin. You'll get more units more so than what a miner can ever generate . Crypto is risky enough and mining is even riskier with no reward potential with current increasing mining difficulty and oversupply of miners.

If your the guy that bought a bitmain DCR you just went full retard.

The added tariffs on everything makes things even worse for us American customers; I assume this now applies to all Bitmain machines imported from China as well. I can’t really see this being profitable as of now with the way crypto is right now, but seems like a $1K gamble to me. Might make some profit, might not.

The equihash algo is huge, and it kicked out gpu miners, dcr network hashrate is not as vast, only one coin to mine whIle equihash has many, z9 mini use little power, this does not. Decred already has asics, equilhash didnt. ROI will be harder on these. The question is how many of these dr3s were contributing to the existing network hashrate for "testing".

There's also the possibility of a second generation of dcr asics from innosillicon, the d9+ was probably just an overclocked d9. If 44th can be achieved on the whatsminer there's likely to be something  that fast around the corner.

Bitmain are probably building their new dcr asics on their new 7nm chip process, which they will start to flood the network when they have finished milking us the dr3s. Plus if whatsminer mines on their 44th miner after they sold out a batch or two it won't be pretty in a month or so.

Stick to miners that mine large major algos, eg sha and scrypt.  especially in this market. New miners will come.

So basically thanks to all these ASICs my RX GPUs will never dual mine again most likely.

Since all these algos are GPU compute, they are very easy to replicate an ASIC for.

Sure miss the days of July 2017 when I was making like $2/day extra on top of my $6/day with my RX 470 4GB mining ETH+SC.

nowadays mainly only mining hardware manufacturers and hardware resellers earn money in crypto mining  sphere.

First batch will make some money and should ROI or close but yes months of mining before release doesn't give consumers incentive to buy. I imagine the spike is do to any manufacturer developing a new blake256 miner as well.

Exactly! I'm getting a serious dose of Bitmain's A3 Siacoin miner deja vu here. The only coin on that algo (blake2b) and it got completely destroyed in what? 2? 3 months? I'm not falling for this shit again.
