One fine day, to me once again someone knocked on the telegram, a certain investor, the blockchain speaker and so on. Cool perhaps the guy?!
Look even a couple of channels we have, in fact where he found me.
Well, we started a conversation, he introduced himself, said that he was engaged in investing and mining bitcoin.
I decided to support the conversation, in consequence of which he asked if I was engaged in mining, to which the answer was negative, since I do not have the necessary equipment. Tom, I will call him that, told me about cloud mining through the blockchain purse, the minimum amount of investment/that is, should be on the balance/ 0.05 btc
At first I refused, because there was no such amount, but asked whether it is possible to mine the Ether and received an affirmative answer...probably what you'd expect Smiley

In General, I'm a gambler and risky, and decided that whether that would be, closing my eyes and following the instructions of Tom, I created a new purse (with 0 balance), he asked my username/password to register a pool in the settings. Then I began to creep some doubts, but I sent him the login information, after some manipulation, changed the password back, threw it on the ethereum wallet.
the next day I saw the gorgeous picture of the going in the purse, there was a 0.07$...at the exchange rate at the time. Can you imagine my surprise and a bunch of messages this same miner?!! but he reassured me, offered to download the application (official blockchain.info) on the phone, and when I check the balance through it, I see the balance of bitcoin, highlighted in gray and labeled "non-spendable"...
Of course to me it about what does not speak.. As I explained that the balance will be available at the expiration of the investment in mining, that is, after 7 days.
Two days behind...I'm waiting 5 more..and I would like to believe in a miracle, although I set myself up in advance that there may be nothing there...
naive? I know.)

perhaps you have faced similar situations? what do you think about this?

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

That scam, this is old scam trick and usually people offering it on crypto facebook groups. The non-spendable will stay like that and you can't spend it even you wait it for 1 month or more, except you have the private key.
Usually, user will ask you to send money to your blockchain wallet and then the scammer will send your balance and he will add watch address and you cannot spend that balance.

As stated above this not something new, but still greedy and idi*t people still believe in this that's why victims are still outnumbered.

perhaps you have faced similar situations? what do you think about this?
As I said greedy people and lack of knowledge will only fall on this kind of scheme.

following the instructions of Tom

What instructions are these? Can you tell us what these instructions are?

I created a new purse (with 0 balance)

What site did you create account?

he asked my username/password to register a pool in the settings.

Again: What site did you create account?

As I explained that the balance will be available at the expiration of the investment in mining, that is, after 7 days.
Two days behind...I'm waiting 5 more..and I would like to believe in a miracle, although I set myself up in advance that there may be nothing there...

These are the 2 most " popular " cloud mining companies:

https://www.genesis-mining.com

https://hashflare.io

look at how many people are complaining about these two companies. These cloud mining are not profitable

what do you think about this?

always do google search

Regardless of how much of a gambler or risk taker you are, it's plain stupid what you did and there is no excuse that you can come up with to "justify" your actions, not even being a complete rookie or greedy.

Because there are people like you, these scammers have enough reason to stay and scam others as well. If their shady plan works each and every time, why would scammers stop scamming? It's all up to you people.

Stop being retarded and these scams are no longer an issue.

He's talking about a blockchain.com account/wallet it seems from the OP.

Old trick and keeps happening because it keeps working. Nothing to do with cloudmining either (and I'll reserve my personal thoughts for cloudmining itself, since none of them are positive). Many other investment scams work using the same modus operandi.

Someone should probably write up a "watch-only" wallet scam article and populate the net... how it takes advantage of partial knowledge of users on how Bitcoin wallets work, luring them into some sense of security (if it's there on the blockchain it means it works!). Least OP recognised it quickly. Some people just keep on sending until they feel it's fat enough to withdraw.

It's not really even about not knowing how Bitcoin works, it's just about drilling some common sense into people's heads. If it's too good to be true...

Sorry for going hard on you. Your situation is not that of a gambler because a gambler will make a calculated risk and when he lose, he knows he lost on a fair platform. A gambler does not just want to sit and expect some high level of return from a random person on social media, he takes his time to identify a legit site to give a run for his money. Comparing this your action to that of a gambler would not be fair to those who gamble with their hard earned resources expecting a return.

You will have to wait till forever to get that fund back because its never coming and you have not only lost your money, but you have given that individual the motivation to carry on his unholy activities believing that there is someone else out there who will fall for such cheap scam.

Didnt face such situation but i have seen lots of similar scam attempts similar to this scenario where someone do ask out your blockchain account and ask you to put up amounts and since you already changed its password you are confident enough to put funds without knowing that he do already knows on the paraphrases of that wallet which means he do already have the access on that wallet anytime. When we do talk about non-spendable then its clear that it is just an imported one and theres no such thing about 7 days that those funds will be spendable at the end of the contract or agreement. So, even just on our common sense or logic we would able to spot out directly that this is purely SCAM!

Dont let your greed blinded you and theres no such thing on mining on a web-wallet.Lack of knowledge and mixed up with greediness will lead you to hell.lol

@Slow Death

He's talking about a blockchain.com account/wallet it seems from the OP.

I read more than 10 times the OP Post because I refuse to think that's what I'm thinking, I'll summarize what I thought:

OP has an account at blockchain.com and someone tells OP to create another account at blockchain.com and deposited ETH and give the login details for that person to configure the pool. Is this what I'm thinking happened? Because if it is, I wonder how OP that uses blockchain.com did not see that it is only a wallet and that there is nothing of mining?

the next day I saw the gorgeous picture of the going in the purse, there was a 0.07$...at the exchange rate at the time. Can you imagine my surprise...

Now I imagine your surprise.

You got it right. It may have been that the scammer was so convincing, that OP just took it for granted that there may have been an advanced user panel that allowed the scammer to unlock special mining features.

It's horrible that people are stupid enough to fall for this, and the worst thing is that this is a growing problem. Even if you're a complete noob in the crypto world, common sense should be enough to not fall for these silly scams.

You can read more about these scams here: https://blog.blockchain.com/2018/04/11/addressing-watch-only-scams/

Nice words are attractive but not good always. That man isn't investor, nor blockchain speaker but he is scammer. Before you decided to create thread here, haven't you thought about why he wasn't offering that service on this forum? If he is an investor, why does he prays on random people? Risk is good but in this situation you didn't risk, you just do wrong move and it was analyzed from you. There is no miracle to get your money back, it's truth, you won't always hear what you want, just forget what happened and learn on this lesson.

Some of these programs pay until they reach the targetted amount of deposits so they will pay early investors. If these guys are lucky then they can make some profit but with greediness, if they reinvest then they will not get anything later on.

Some of these sites have been closed within few days of opening so there is no assurance that if your an early investor then you can make money from these investments. Better avoid these scam programs and keep your money in your wallets safely. Find other investment options like investing in casino bankrolls or trading to grow your coins.
