So far I had invested in ETH, ripple , tron and some more coins. I will suggest you to stick with top 10 coins based on market cap till you understand the market. Note that the current situation of the market is not that encouraging, you might not be able to get the same ROI that people were getting few months before. |

The most trusted altcoins definitely are top on the list on coinmarketcap, because they've been there from onset or have huge market cap per say. Talking about making profits while holding some altcoins, proper TA and personal research is mandatory. Do not hold coins because people are holding, know why you are holding. It also depends if you are holding for short term or long term. For short term, TA and big news with close dates should guide you. For long term, the project progress, product and team should be considered.
