Bitcoin is a digital currency that has gained so much attention in the last few years, it is no longer news that a lot of people in countries and cities are embracing bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as the day go by, but what may be news is what city or country is bitcoin accepted the most. As obtained from FORBES website, a research was carried out recently to determine the cities with most Bitcoin-Accepting Vendors in the world. From the research, the top 10 cities is as listed below: CITIES (COUNTRIES) NUMBER OF CRYPTOCURRENCY-ACCEPTING BUSINESSES 1. PRAGUE (CZECH REPUBLIC) 147 2. BUENOS AIRES (ARGENTINA) 141 3. SAN FRANCISCO (UNITED STATES) 117 4. MADRID (SPAIN) 101 5. NEW YORK CITY (UNITED STATES) 101 6. AMSTERDAM (THE NETHERLANDS) 88 7. BOGOTA (COLOMBIA) 87 8. VANCOUVER (CANADA) 86 9. LONDON (THE UNITED KINGDOM) 85 10. PARIS (FRANCE) 82 It should be noted that in order to find Bitcoin hotspots around the world, the research used Coinmap on July 24, 2018. The number of BTC-vendors listed in a city was recorded and did not include corresponding suburbs. It is worthwhile to also state that CoinMap relies on crowdsourcing to list all BTC-accepting vendors. I'm surprised Miami isn't on the list, isn't a giant crypto conference held there pretty much every single year? I guess they need to be pushing it more often when they're there.
You may be right, but holding crypto conferences may not immediately translate to crypto acceptance and usage, maybe Miami may be in the top 20.

The number of businesses in a city accepting cryptocurrency isn't what makes it the top 10 The number of users is, by far, more important and show the real picture of the city. If a city has 100 businesses accepting cryptocurrency but nobody is using it then it's worthless. You can have 100 businesses accepting crypto but if only 0.001% of the transactions are paid in crypto then it shows nothing (especially considering most of them are small or very small merchands)

I didn't expect, I thought US held the # 1 title for this category, it turned out that czech was superior and oddly enough, why are Asian countries like Japan and China not in this top 10 list? Isn't Satoshi Nakamoto from Japan, and the most miners are from China?

I'm surprised Malta isn't one of the cities in this list. Strange!! It is known as Crypto Island and does not have vendors accepting Bitcoin.
But still it is an interesting list.

Me either since Malta brand as the blockchain paradise and many projects had flock to innovate their product and putting up their headquarters as well. Well I guess, the basis of this list was the merchants found using the CoinMap. That team should visit Japan and use CoinMap to locate those bitcoin hotspot, Japan has over 20,000 merchants that accepts bitcoin, ( though it's through their website and online store ). https://www.google.com.ph/amp/s/99bitcoins.com/thousands-japanese-merchants-accept-bitcoin/amp/
Isn't Satoshi Nakamoto from Japan, and the most miners are from China?
Who says Nakamoto is from Japan? China shut down the Shanghai based bitcoin exchange and so the decline in usage of bitcoin, and miners have nothing to do with it.

The response is so much about bitcoin, this makes bitcoin more useful and has a good future for business. Bitcoin is slowly becoming an unparalleled asset. I think there will be many big and advanced countries to follow, and enthusiasm for bitcoin is increasingly visible.

I do not see Japan in your list, I mean, unlike China, Japan has really been surprising in being the top Asia country that has embraced this digital currency unlike any other Asia country. Though, Indonesia kinda welcomed Bitcoin but not as the Japanese. And I believe this is because the Japanese are open minded to new technologies and willingly to try something new.

Unfortunately, there is no way to approximate this. And even if we have a number of users using crypto, we would also have to wonder how many of those are unique persons. Somebody might buy a coffee in the morning a sandwich in the afternoon and a "Bounty" bar later on each day and that would count in a month as 100 purchases. While a hotel might have 60 tourists paying with BTC and it would rank lower. But overall, nice numbers The China myth is busted once again. Businesses respond to customers demand and want. It is not possible for there to be so many shops and outlets accepting cryptocurrencies as payment without a corresponding number of holders in that city.
Or they accept BTC just so that some newspapers give them free publicity. Look, x is accepting BTC. The costs are 0 anyway. I'm surprised no Chinese cities on the list, China has the most powerful exchanges、miners. In Hangzhou、Beijing、ShangHai, these cities also have many geek teams are woking on new business scenarios.
Yeah, yeah, heard that a lot of time. In reality, you can't buy anything with BTC in China.

With the continuous development of cryptocurrencies, governments around the world have different responses to bitcoin. Some local governments do not support it, some open the embrace of cryptocurrencies, and others hold a wait-and-see attitude. No matter why a country uses bitcoin, it can be seen that bitcoin is indeed bitcoin without borders!

Though the news is old but still thanks for reminding. Waiting eagerly the time when some Developing asean cities like Mumbai ; New Delhi etc will have a seat in such list. The same with the African cities. Definitely that will be the golden period for crypto lovers.
