Good effort, I'm sure there are good posters among the demoted people, the only problem is that to find them, you will have to go through the circles of hell. Smiley

There were already many demoted users spotted getting merits for random comments.
In any case would be interesting to know how many good people you find in the end, if you decide to go through the whole list.

on the main thread I looked at 40 members

this thread I did 10  so far 50 members  4 or 5

 I gave  merit points.

I got real world busy but I will do more of them.

the list had 475

With  50 done so far  about 20000 posts looked more then 16750 were bounty facebook twitter etc.

and at least 2750 were low quality junk

Say less then 500 have a little something worth while.

Nice initiative to give your sMerits away and to motivate forum users to keep contributing through their high-qualited, constructive threads.
If you have time, please take a look at my case some day @phillipma1957

I have gone more than three-fifths of my journey to Full Member rank. I have felt happy because nearly 9 months after merit system launch day, I have gotten 61 more merit points in total.

That's good. Since theymos implement new merit system, we should help quality poster those are demoted. It's too difficult to find especially on Altcoin Discussion & Bitcoin Discussion board. However I spend some time on both board lately, and I merited few people's. I am wondering to help 3 or 4 people's per day only demoted quality poster. We need to be little bit soft, even their post isn't 100% quality we need to visits their post history. If no lot of spam on their history than we could help them.

In my opinion, we should concentrent few quality poster those are demoted. We shouldn't just throw out them.

You do quality work and improve this forum. I have a proposition. A big part of the beginners that come to this forum aim to earn bounty. You analyze their work, and found 95-99% of the posts in the bounty. Then why not prevent them from posting to this forum for a while. Send them a warning in a personal message or in a RED Trust. Example write text about this. Stop spamming the section Altcoins, write article 30% on loose threads and 70% on the subject of bounties. This is just an example and my thoughts. What do you think about it?

I think mark x is plagiarist.
Sorry to offend @OP, but i think you merited a plagiarism post.
Please check.
Copy and pasting:
List of crypto below which we think has faster transactions:

1. Dash
Dash, one of the oldest cryptocurrency in the market that popularized the concept of masternode governance, is a fast transaction coin. The average transaction time for DASH is 2 minutes 39 seconds. This is also known as block time. DASH, with a block size of 2 MB, can process up to 56 tx / second. Block size increased from 1 Mb to 2 Mb last year.

2. Monero
Monero is a pure coin driven by a community that is popular for its anonymity and privacy. This is also quite fast with transactions. It takes an average of 2 minutes to process transactions in the next Monero block. The size of the Monero block is dynamic, which means it will continue to adjust automatically as the average network volume grows.

3. PIVX
PIVX is another coin with fast transaction speed and focus on privacy. Also, this is a proof of coins that provides advantages compared to other coin proofs. This is a DASH fork and has a block time of 1 minute which means it takes one minute to process the transaction on the next PIVX block.

4. NEO
NEO is another proof of fast coin stock by processing transactions and can process at a speed of 1000tx / second. NEO cryptocurrency, called Ethereum killer, takes 15 seconds to process the average transaction in the next NEO block.

5. Nano
Nano, formerly known as Raiblocks, is a relatively new cryptocurrency that was formed in 2017. Thanks to its block-lattice technology, it is very fast and can reach a high scale. It usually takes 5-10 seconds to get confirmation for a successful transaction via Nano.

6. Dogecoin
Dogecoin is a very old cryptocurrency that runs based on evidence of work consensus mechanisms. Crypto is also very fast. It takes an average of 1 minute to process transactions in the next Dogecoin block.

7. Ethereum
Ethereum, the world's computer, has recently faced congestion due to its scalability problem. In addition, he was thinking of moving to evidence of a stake consensus in the future that would make it faster. But from now on it usually takes 14-17 seconds to process transactions on the next Ethereum block and handle up to 12 tx / second.

8. Litecoin
Litecoin is a silver standard in the crypto market. Litecoin, another branch of Bitcoin, is quite fast and powerful. It takes around 2:30 minutes to process transactions in the next Litecoin block.

Jet Cash has once merited 1 plagiarized post. It's really hard to find out the plagiarized post while you are going to +Merit. In this case, we can use plagiarism checker for being ensured that we are not wasting our sMerits.

@OP
you are putting some great effort for giving sMerits. This is what a merit source should be. Thank you for your effort.

In addition, the data given by mark x are also not correct. Avg block time for DeepOnion is 48 seconds which is faster than most coins listed there. Sorry for being little off topic.

Wow! I must commend your effort for putting in so much time to review such an amount post to merit some members. Majority of members with merit won't waste such a time considering the things you will see when going through the post. I think you will make a very good bounty manager because you can dedicate your time to reward deserving members.

I was one of the demoted jr.member to newbie rank way back when theymos implemented the new 1 merit rule requirement to rank up to jr.member. I was having grief that time thinking on how I could be able to get back on this forum wearing a signature. So I wrote up this thread that has been part of the grief expressing my self in the behalf of the members here that are not a native English Speaker. Fortunately I earned some merits with that post.

Now there are really members here that are really trying hard to earn one merit and I think we should consider them. We know that not all the members here live with silver spoon on their mouth. Some of them are poor like me who were unfortunate enough to live in a third world country. Thus, not your fault for that but I was just hoping that a merit source could change them.

This one way of pulling them back to this forum. Hope this fella will continue to pour blessings on the demoted jr.members and be a tool for them to be able to comeback in the forum. Who knows 1 merit for them saves a family? LOL I might be exaggerating but there is really a point on why theymos also doing a list of demoted jr.members and to let merit source to look after that list?

theymos is a good guy after all.

Okay you could be right but let me say  I am looking for content and it takes hours to read and look at stuff.

He did use this qualifying statement  "List of crypto below which we think has faster transactions."

if he used I vs we  I would say you are correct.  Since he used we  it means to me  he is agreeing with the list not that he created the list.  But I am not a lawyer.  He does credit  people other them himself for that list with the use of we.

As for your second piece of evidence it does not exist  so either he edited/deleted it or you faked it.  I wish you pm'd me  before you posted since I could have looked at that second reference.  And also copied it,

It now needs to be found another way via archives. If there is one of that post.

Also  why would you post here to complain  without checking with me first.  He is missing posts from my post count of 98 so most likely you caught him and he should be banned.  Maybe someone can find it in archives somewhere and do a ban.

I spent hours on those names and if he was a weasel that should be banned but you hurt the case against him by posting here rather then checking with me so that I could copy the info along with you.

No matter what that user used, either "I" or "we", the content of his/her post without citing the reference is a clear plagiarism and deserves to be banned (also doesn't deserves any Merits as well). But since it's really difficult to find good posts by these demoted members, I understand what you've done. But plagiarism is plagiarism and any member who plagiarised will face enough consequences.

Oh, about that second piece of evidence provided by @clear cookies, I can't clearly remember but as far as I know (though I'm not so sure) it happened that I and saw that post when I visited the link provided right after @clear cookies posted that in here. But I'm quite surprised that it disappeared now, or it doesn't really exist? Too bad I didn't take a screenshot or archived it that time.
