You're looking at this situation the wrong way. You were and are making profit. If you bought Bitcoin in 2017 you made profit. The average price at the time was below 5000USD.

The problem with a whole lot of you is that you assume and think a lot and then as you are thinking you really do not get to think on the negative aspect but the positive one. One thing is that even if we do not get to see this price at $20k this year, at still some point we will get to see it and we will obviously be trading above it.

One thing is that the market will always have two different phases and that is either a bear phase or a bull phase.
